. It really helps.

Honestly I pick some hard classes based on that site. I choose the "easier" and more "lenient" professors

it's hit or miss. I've seen ratings on professors I had and some are way off. Usually people who write reviews (anywhere) are the ones who had greatexperiences (less) or the ones who had horrible experiences (much more common). and the ones with horrible experiences usually are C students anyway.

at least you can find out if the teacher likes giving homework, demands attendance or requires the book. for that it's useful.

I made the mistake of not using it one semester and paid greatly.
Sorry to hear it came too late for you.

I didn't visit the site until the end of the fall semester last year.

My psychology professor was the absolute worst.

I read the comments about her and some of my other professors and most of the comments were accurate.

Hite is a great teacher for EE 100. He tells you exactly what will be on the tests and quizes. Half the quizes were take home. If you don't like your grade, he will work out some extra credit. It's extremely easy to get an A from his class, but you still learn alot.
that's all i needed to see for me to register for his class, i need to take some easier classes for now so i can get my GPA up.
but it's really not about the difficulty, i enjoy a challenge but also it helps to have a teacher who is actually interested in teaching. and my mathteacher was def not interested.

It's overrated. Most tier 1 universities have an in-house rating system which is usually better then ratemyproff.

Ratemyproff only gives you students opinions, it doesn't give you professor GPA rankings by class, semester, etc. That's what you really want.Ratemyproff is better than nothing though. If I was you, I'd do some research and see if your school has some kinda of professor GPA ranker that will showyou GPAs, percentages of A's, B's, etc. by class and semester for every professor.

i'm guessing mine doesn't cause at orientation for transfer students. some of the students there told me to check it out

Always use it. Make sure to see what class the student took that is rating, thats important. i learned my lesson last year took a class that had staff underthe instructors name, worst mistake ever.
