Re-Sellers

Blame Flightclub...

do what they do and buy shoes that are popular to post them in ebay, then make the extra money so that i don't have to spend my money to buy from resellers. It's that simple. If you can't beat em then do what they do and spend the ebay/craigslist money on resellers. You won't lose much of your own money and not only that, it makes your feedback rep better on ebay. So since i have to spend 200 plus on certain shoes i want in case i want to double triple or quadruple up, i just buy shoes resell and use the extras for that. No biggie.

I think people putting so much time and effort in to the hustle is sad. Just to make 50-100 per pair after shipping (if they judged the supply/demand right in the first place). Think about all those people picking up Copper Foams last year as they sat on shelves for weeks. Dudes need to put in some time to hustle something with higher margins.

I'm finding it easier to cop the tough shoes now for retail, than in the 1999-2002 period of the 3's, 11's, etc. NDC has stepped up it's game since the 2009 Space Jam mess. I've copped the Grinch, Cool Grey, and Rice's off NDC with no problem this year. Foams are sitting on shelves all over my area. The only shoes I've missed that I wanted are the Motorsport VI, and the Space Jams (but I like my CG > SJ).

I don't even mind re-sellers....it's Nike losing out on profit. If they want to lose out to resellers and higher retail price more power to them. Nike should release more of the sneaks that got overhyped and is selling over retail on ebay. South Beach Lebron 8s and Yeezy's price is unjustifiable....had nike released more pairs as if it was a general release.. price wouldn't be that high.

This is my reasoning... If I can go to my local store while I'm picking my own shoes up, and scoop up a few pairs for other people. Charge them $20-$35 more depending on the shoe, and make some money to pay for my own pair, then why not?

What gets me is when people want stuff for retail and do not want to pay tax or shipping at all on a shoe that has been long sold out. What the hell do I look like? Eastbay Gold Club Membership? If you ask someone to do something, you should expect to give them some kind of compensation.

Buying out FSR's and sitting on pairs is stupid. Invest your money in other things that will pay you dividends.

To elaborate on my post, I actually forgot to add this into the post, but I try to help out a lot of NT'ers get kicks they are looking for that are unavailable in their area. I've sent out a bunch of pairs, some even less than retail when I get my hookup. It is what it is. Bulk buyers are the ones to blame here....

depends on the markup theyre selling it for IMO

Those dudes on ebay a day after a release with like a $300+ BIN are ridiculous

Cant hate if they sellin em tho

Reselling is a trip..i do it from time to time and make a little money when i do. I very seldom sell a pair of shoes that have just released and try to turn right around and sell them though..Had to do it with yeezys that was crazy. I usually provide kicks that you really wont be able to find for low prices and make them available to the buyer. For instance i may grab a pair of BHM kobe from the clearance outlet at $69.99 then turn around and flip them for retail. Buyer is happy and i make a litle bit of cash without ripping someones pockets off. It's hard to be fair in this game but i always am..just ask about me.

In all fairness, Nike purposely creates limited releases so people talk about them and want them (hype).. making it so you look forward to what they release next and now you're hooked... it's called marketing.. and that's why they do it.. if they made EVERY shoe a GR they wouldn't necessarily make as much or more money than they do now because the release of limited's creates more interest in their brand and their products.. whereas every shoe being a GR would slowly drive down THEIR prices as every shoe would have a huge supply and everyone would have limitless opportunities to obtain them and nobody would feel the need to "buy now" and may wait and eventually not buy at all..

.. sorry for the marketing explanation of all this.. but that's why they do it.. they have limited releases to promote sales/encourage purchases..

Im fine with resellers. I do it from time to time. The buyers are what makes the prices so high and on top of that people are just lazy. Instead of going to get something they want it hand delivered. Yea I undertand people work so they cant make it or they dont live near a certain store but most make no effort and think they are going to cop at what nike is charging. Also people take sneakers to serious if you dont get a pair youll be fine. As long as someone is willing to pay top dollar someone is going to keep charging top dollar. I laugh at the new resllers some are just stupid. You campout for10-12 hours to buy a shoe for $150-200 just to sell for $275. Let do the math you just made $75 in 10hrs = 7.50 a hr

  go get a job.

example of buyers being thirst
1. I go to get the EA Sport tony parker hyperdunks and end up with a pair of cold ceremony af1. Once I walk out the door dude offers me $500 so i take it. People will pay anything

2. End up with 4 pairs of titanium 23. This one had me
roll.gif
at the time. Fat joe offers me $450 for a pair im like nah. Then your avaerage 9-5 joe ask me to hold them for a month so he can get the money up. Mind you he offered me $2500. its crazy how some people will spend money they dont have. Another pair I sold in flightclub for $2300 kept one ds and ball in the other.

3. On ebay a friend of mines has a pair of DS JKidd flightposite 1 listed at BIN $7000. Yea people out there are like damn he crazy but then there are people offering $2000+

Really though, this is like whos fault to blame when it comes to drugs and users.  If there was no demand, there wouldn't be sellers.

Not like I'm saying both are the same, just a reference to wrap ya head around re-selling.

here's my take, if your making money while reselling then do what you do, but it's comical seeing a bunch of dudes who have no clue what their doing end up with a full size run of stuff they paid retail for that they ended up taking a L on or made minimal profit on. if you got a connect where you can pay less then retail and have access to in demand shoes then make your money.

good dude and fair with prices

If you are also buying shoes, the resell game has raised prices for the very thing you are wanting to buy. So ask yourself if its worth it.. Nike and JB are now seeing that some limited/ limited GRs can be sold for way more. They are almost cutting out the middle man here.. So congrats. last year you got some jordans for $150 and made $200 on the resell. But the effects of that resell has raised the price of the shoes you now want to $175. SO i guess you take some of that profit from last year and use it to pay for the item that you created a higher price for. Like the saying goes, some of you are crapping in your own bed and don't even know it.

If some resellers are straight in it for the money non stop and dont care about the shoes, then none of the above matters. But if you are buying and also selling, you're raising the price yourself on the stuff you supposedly want. Very soon there will be a tipping point where consumer MSRP will match actual ebay resell price and when that day comes, it'll be ugly.

I don;t do much of it personally because in my mind, maybe a couple months from now, the pair I paid $120 for and resold for $160 will now be $150. I shot myself in the foot on items I want. Some people need to be up for reselling for LIFE, or they are just screwing themselves over when it comes to buying.

The ultimate question to ask yourself is, if the price you are reselling shoes for became the MSRP, how would you feel? Those days are approaching

Im not for it or against it.

I do resell and here are MY reasons why.

I'm 24, took 5 years off school after graduation and now I attend college full time, I have a 2 year old son that i have 50% custody off but willingly/gladly take him more than the 50%, I work full time in the summer only and for one month over christmas break, i own my own house and have about 2k in living expenses per month.

Now from me being able to resell pes and limited shoes I dont see me hurting anybody here. I live in manheim twp pa, We have maybe 3 sneaker collectors here but no hypebeasts or nothing like that. I buy up a stock or a fsr of a hyped up release or something limited before it even hits shelves and nobody complains. the sneaker collectors here come to me if they need it and i give it to them for retail. *no tax on shoes here* SO with me buying up the stock here its not like there are 50 pissed off shoeheads searching for them.

by my reselling it gives me soooooo much more time to spend with my son in the most important years of his life instead of me working a 9 to 5 and going to school full time and not seeing him much.

I pay all my bills by doing this, it's not illegal, its easy for me to do and ive made a lot of business relationships along the way.

People who have bought things from me numerous times know they get first dibs on anything i sell and they also get a good deal on it

This may sound arrogant but I rather sacrifice some online dudes considering themselves hypebeasts or sneakerheads to be pissed at me for buying size runs of hype up shoes than to work a 9-5 and miss out on time with my son

another thing i might add is this, i'd honestly say i have a neutral view on resellers for the most part since they don't affect me at all, i used to be more on the anti side, but when i realized that alot of dudes are lazy, and just expect the shoes to show up on their doorstep without making any type of effort whatsoever to get em, they deserve to pay resell prices.

in the pewter foam thread, dudes were asking what sizes certain stores had, rather then rely on a niketalk member to answer that, just call the damn store yourself,

someone else was asking about where they had the pewter foams in nyc, someone listed a spot in manhattan that had em, and rather then go down there and get em, the guy asking for help was like "uh i don't wanna go down there and they don't have em"

when you make no effort whatsoever to get a pair, expect some random stranger online to disregard paypal fees, time spent, and shipping costs to get you a pair for retail plus tax it's comedic, and i see that on here alot, dudes make no effort to track down their pair or find a spot in their neighborhood that's selling a pair then they complain.

Well, with all this shoe selling talk. Which one of you resellers, has my size 11 in the Lebron 8 ASG?

Resellers are fine in my book, I would not have a lot of my shoes if it was not for resellers. The lil extra I have to pay over retail is definitely worth not having to waste my time lining up.
