Ready Player One Thread|Ready Player Two Book OUT NOW|

It’s an interesting read. You get both Brooks’ perspective as he investigates the incident and a first hand account of one of the members of the community. Definitely starts of slow, but when they begin to realize what's going on, it picks up pretty fast.

If you liked World War Z, you'll enjoy Brooks' writing in this one.
I’ll cop after I finish RP2.

Picked up my copy on Wednesday. Ready to start reading this weekend.

Finished a few days ago
Definitely no spoilers, lol but overall I didn't like it.
Pros
-World building is 2nd to none
-Takes place right after the first
- The inciting incident/ that drives the plot, like the oasis, the concept on paper is:wow::wow::wow:

Cons
-While it isn't surprising, this book follows essentially the same template as the first. I dunno what I expected but I kinda would've liked that formula to change or evolve
-There seemed to be some retcon here and there, but in regards to the film, which didn't make sense at all since they are separate
-This book jumps a few sharks and there are huge pacing issues.

I really enjoyed the characters and their own personal development. It just didn't connect me with the bigger picture. First half is pretty dope, but once things kick off it's kinda like:rolleyes
If they make a film out of this one, I won't be watching.

Saw a few headlines of reviews and they weren't impressed either. Shame.

Might have to pass on this one and wait on the 3rd.

Cory Doctorow - Little Brother was a good read but could not get through the second book- Homeland. It was such bad pacing/slow in the beginning for the way the first one ended.
