Im just not sure if im using it right cause everytime I engage it, it starts at 4th automatically. And I never got that far into driving manual to learn when to properly downshift then upshift and all that other jazz.
Learn to read people. Ive explained the situation like 4 times already.

I want to try Lamborghini E-gear or the Nissan GTR paddle shifting so bad

this. at least on the larger vehicles. ours starts either at 1st or 2nd when at a full stop/slow speed. if you're cruising, it's usually 4th, btw. It downshifts by itself when you slow down a lot.

Put it into the mode @ a stop. You will start in 1st or 2nd. My BMW starts in whatever gear your auto trans is in when you make the switch from auto to tiptronic. I think your starting in 4 because Auto trans shifts very quickly (2500-3000 RPMs) and 4th for auto is more the cruising gear where as I was taught 3rd was the cruising gear (on city streets) for manual but that is because usually you shift later.

It may not matter but I dont like switching to Tiptronic in the middle of driving. I feel like it might mess something up. Prolly nto the case but for my piece of mind I usually dont just go switching back and forth.

Also in the snow, it helps because you can start in 2nd gear which gives you a little more power to the wheels and helps to plow through a little better than using the auto which is gonna start in 1st.
