Reggae Sting 2008: Vybz Kartel vs. Movado

Arguments all over the dancehall world about who won. I say Vybz won the first half, Movado came back in the end. It was a tie.

It's a toss up. It seems like Kartel took the beginning of the clash with force but once he just started responding to everything Mavado was saying, Mavadojust went into his classic war songs and he had the edge towards the end. He shouldn't have ran off the stage though....I actually felt like they were justtrying to outlast each other with new lyrics before they went into classic war tunes...Mavado was kinda smart to bounce if you think about it cuz if Kartel hadwent into Bad Man Nuh Trow Word/ Touch Me If Yuh Bad etc etc that wouldve been the end of it for Mavado IMO..

I like both artist but I favor Kartel overall.

Movado is just a performer and blew up because of Bounty Killer's people. Kartel writes and perfoms and puts on a better show IMO. You can tell Movado wasa rookie out there. He wasn't even singing just saying one or two words from the song. Also Vybz doesn't sleep. Sting was over on the morning of 12/27and that Don't Run song was released on 12/28.

Going to see Mavado tonight. Hopefully this show turns out better than the last one they attempted to put on in 2007.

Just came from the barbershop and this was the hot topic in there...personally I think Kartel took this. Mavado perform 1 line here 1 line there. Kartel hadmore lyrics and all of them was brand new. Vado come out and sing hit son

Yup but it was more like Merciless vs. Bounty, Beenie and Ninjaman. And Merciless disposed of all 3 of them. I would even say Vybz took a page from thatSting by coming out dressed like a soldier.

The Mavado show last night was nice. He's definitely a studio artist and the crowd was hype. He didn't talk about Sting at all though.
