Yo, I just got surgery for my broken collarbone last week and I'm schedule to do PT in a week or so. BTW it's my left collarbone, first time I ever broke a bone. :{

I still have about 2 weeks in a sling. It's crazy how your muscle just diminishes in a matter of weeks or days!

What injuries and PT you all had done in a past?

As far as injuries go:
Broke both feet (seperate occasions)
fractured right arm
partially torn ACL and meniscus
fractured 4th lumbar
various sprains

But I only had to go thru PT for the meniscus surgery. My only advice is to push yourself in this and don't cut corners because if you do, its only gonna slow down your recovery in the long run. Do all the stretches, exercises, etc that they tell you to do.

Damn thats a lot of injuries bruh. I'm pretty active person I don't see anything will stop me from doing PT unless it really really hurts.

I'm only 21 and I've been playing sports my entire life so combine that with a family history of bad luck and bada bing bada boom, i get injured alot haha

Tendonitis in both my knees in HS... Had to do some exercises to strengthen em. Lost weight since then and am now tendonitis free. :hat

Torn ACL in my left knee in summer '07
Torn ACL + meniscus in right knee summer '08
Torn ACL in left knee again Jan '11

Never had a broken bone or anything besides these. Worst injury I've had otherwise is like a rolled ankle

Didn't have a problem with rehab. Just don't baby yourself but at the same time know your limits and don't rush yourself either.

Ligament damage and tears is worse than broken bones from my experience. Staying healthy is a great great thing.

I've had 2 stints of PT for 2 different baseball pitching injuries over a period of 2-3 years. First was for a partially torn UCL in my right elbow. I think I went to a bad PT doctor because the exercises i did were extremely laughable and they barely even helped, if at all. Second time was after surgery in which I had a SLAP tear of my Labrum as well as a torn capsule (I think) in my right shoulder repaired. This time my doctor was official and really hands on. The exercises at the clinic were great and I had a really in depth packet of exercises to do at home. My shoulder definitely feels better than before surgery, but the success rate for SLAP tear surgeries is pretty bad so I haven't, and probably never will pitch again :(.

What should I expect from Physical Therapy, are their anything I should look out for?

It's my left collarbone, so the whole arm needs therapy :{

Dislocated my left knee cap and completely blew out the ligaments on the inner part of my left knee.. I did 12 weeks of physical therapy, and was discharged two weeks ago. Didn't do surgery; let it heal naturally and through physical therapy. I'd tell you to expect 1. pain 2. doubt and 3. boredom. No one wants to do it, but you're only hurting yourself by not doing it. Grind when your'e there , and just keep in mind that the more physical therapy you do, the better your injury will heal. good luck with it all

I'm two weeks post op, and healing pretty good! No PT, I just gotta do my workout on my own!

Thanks everyone! :D
