As far as I understand, the games were so easy to pirate.. played a key role in that decision.

YUP

but now that i think back on it

I had powerstone, soul calibur, DvC2, resident evil all on bootleg.

Moms bought me that sega sports package when i opened it and saw the nba2k nfl2k AND the black sega sports console/controller I

, and probably played 8 hours straight.

Exactly, it was doing great in the US but it was doing poorly in Japan which was really hurting Sega.

Great system. I loved Sonic 1 and 2, NFL 2K, Crazy Taxi, Jet Grind Radio, Shenmue, that whack +#$ WWE game Royal Rumble. So many classic titles. Even SegaSaturn was hott. Mines died a while ago.

what a system ... for those that had and played it WHEN IT RELEASED (im not talking about after PS2 touched down) understand how ahead of its time itreally was . as others have mentioned the memory card was ill . i remember i was walking around w my memory card in school taking care of Sonic like atamagotchi and
