Removing a dogs tail. Docking. Methods?

I dont see whats so bad about it...i actually plan on doing it whenever i get my pit

isnt it basically like circumcision?? Does a longer tail help a dog in any way?

What kind of dog is it?
I have 2 Corgi's that my mom docked.

HAHA... CIRCUMCISION? do you know the difference between your penis and arm? TAIL? does a human need his fingers? Dogs use their tails for communication andbalance. And they are also an extension of the spine.

damn calm down yall. i LOVE LOVE LOVE my puppy. she is my FIRST dog EVER and i have been home everyday babying her and raising her since i got her. fired fromwork and behind in summer school class. OD... yeah i know. all i was doing was asking. someone who came by today said it is BETTER for the dog (pitbull)because when she is older she could wag her tail onto the wall many times for example and break her tail. so i wanted to put her and i out of some misery inthe future. and NO it is not for looks! she is already amazingly cute and her colors are going to be amazing. trust me, i do not like to even hear her cry wheni have to put her in time out for pooing or peeing on my carpet. so relax animal lovers no harm will be done here.

typically you get your pup's tail docked around 2-5 days of age.

anything later than that and they've already become attached to it, and docking it isn't a great idea. or so i've read.

but if you are going to do it, do it right and get it done surgically by a vet.
