Requesting for a lower APR?

Has anyone successful done this? I was going over my credit card statement this month and noticed my APR is 27%! I didn't realize it was this much till I had a large amount charged on the card. What are some tips and trick when calling?

its almost a catch 22......they wont drop your APR since they know you can make the payments....once you are late or cant pay (messing up your credit) then they will attempt to "adjust your APR"

just get a new card and cancel the one with the higher APR....

with most credit companies, if you make on time payments for like 13+ months they will lower your APR if you request it. i dropped mine from mid-20s to around 10 something

Yup, took about 5 minutes for me to get a lower rate. If you pay on time and just one time you pay late, if they try to hit you with a late charge, tell them to remove the charge. You can also threaten to cancel, that works too.
