CONVERSE SICKS EVO (size 10.5) $75

I needed a performance shoe to replace my Nike Zoom Flight Five's which I had come to hate (too clunky and I hated the inner bootie). I bought these off a complete whim; I saw them on Foot Locker.com and made an impulse buy.

When I first pulled the Sicks out of the box, I was afraid that they would be too narrow. They turned out to fit perfectly... really everything about this shoe is good, especially for the price. Traction is good (clear sole is cool!), fit is great, flexibility is good, especially with it being mostly leather. Early pics of this shoe had patent leather on some parts, but it seems that they went to all leather/vinyl. It features Converse's "Balls" technology along the entire foot, and I'm not really sure what it does. But it looks cool (like full-length air) and seems MUCH more durable than air, which always popped on my old Nikes.

Sorry, I haven't  been up on the shoe game since like 2005... but I just came here to say that these shoes are very, very good purchases for serious ball players that want to try a different brand and pay only $75!!

I too am curious on what type of cushioning it provides, hope OP can help out. The red/white/black colorway looks good to me.

Loved the Weapon Evo's last year and was looking forward to these this year with the full length Balls, but after seeing the shoe in FA last week I am not sur eI can spend retail. The materials feel thinner and cheaper to me than last year. That was one area that really impressed me was the grade of leather Converse used. The cushioning was very nice though, so I may have to grab with a discount.

Almost two months later and I am still in love with these shoes. I am close to proclaiming them my favorite basketball shoes of all time for pure performance. I have noticed that when laced up all the way (and midfoot laced nice and snug) the lockdown is perfect.

Good. I wear arch inserts that span 3/4 of the bottoms of my feet, but I haven't noticed any problems. My feet are never sore after playing, and these kicks were ready to play in right out of the box.
Someone PM'd me asking about size... I would order exactly true to size.

Take back what I said abve - the black/yellows I received are VERY NICE. one of the best combos of materials and construction I have seen all year. Review is coming on Counterkicks, and I have to say, once again, Converse comes correct.

Nice, I might have to give these a shot. Always looking for other b-ball kicks besides Jays and Nikes. Good info.

They fit about a half size down. I wear a 10.5 in Kobe's and a 10 in these is just snug. But I like my shoes with no movement, so true to half-down should be good.

The leather on my black yellows is very nice. The black is a suede/nubuck material and the grey is a full leather. The shoe overall is high-quality and feels great. I didn't like the feel of the all blacks but these redeemed the shoe.
