This dude Mark Cuban jumping the gun, IMO.
What's the rush?
Should've waited to see how the Phoenix situation panned out.
Or went after JVG, though he probably wouldn't be interested.

He's just being interviewed. IMO there are a bunch of good coaches available out there, can't go wrong with any of them.

Because that Dallas team is a jumpshot happy team. And they have J. Kidd.
Kidd in a halfcourt game won't get the Mavericks anywhere.

He's best suited running the floor.
Let's be real, that Dallas team, as they're currently made up, aren't really gonna stop anybody defensively.
Might as well go back to the Nelly days, and run.

Van Gundy turned down the opportunity to interview, though I wouldn't want him here anyways.
D'Antoni would have sucked. I don't see the advantage of waiting to bring him aboard.
It was Donnie Nelson's job if he wanted it, but he's content working in the front office. Can't say I blame him.
I'm a bigger fan of his than most, so I really like this hire... It's as solid as you can get considering the options available. Just ain't anyonereally out there right now.
Kinda curious why Marc Stein hasn't broken this yet if it's indeed true. He's ALWAYS the first guy on Mavs stuff... Not sayin you're wrong, butjust seems odd. And it doesn't help that Peter Vecsey is the guy breaking this story...
