RIP George Floyd

when do the rest of the cops go on trial ?

i hope this quick verdict finds him guilty on all charges and makes him an example for cops all around the country that this type of behavior from police cant continue

There's a difference between protesting and looting. There are people here in Chicago that will peacefully protest and voice their feelings just fine. Then you got those who get on demon time and wanna loot for their own personal gain and then use this case as a justification for it.

protests shouldnt be peaceful. nor should the be convenient for anyone who's not engaged

marching down a cleared street with police surrounding and agitating protesters on every side isn't peaceful either, but no one wants to talk about how police usually ruin & exacerbate every attempt at "peaceful protesting," so why even bother?

i dont give a rats *** about merchandise or buildings when people are being murdered by police

Why announce it’ll be read in 45 minutes? Giving police time to get their units ready?

call me a pessimist. If it’s good news, let it release early. This feels like they’re giving both sides time to get ready. I don’t like it.
That and/or hoping people will be too distracted by rolling one up after work to pay attention to what might happen....

Fast verdict is usually a good thing. Hopefully it's guilty and he goes away forever.

can't be not guilty this fast. lawyers working towards filing an appeal already.

I was just watching the OJ trial thing again this week and though different circumstances, that jury deliberated for a very short time.

CENTRAL TIME!!! You all have 40mins or so to what you gotta do!

Then loot the alderman and mayors office because those are the people who don't give 2 ****s about what's going on in all reality.

So what’s his max time if convicted of all three counts at the highest and longest level? I saw the chart on the other page but wasn’t sure if he had a criminal past. Assuming he didn’t, this is still a max of maybe 30 years?

Google:

Second-degree unintentional murder is punishable by up to 40 years in prison. Third-degree murder is punishable by up to 25 years in prison. However, Minnesota sentencing guidelines call for identical presumptive prison terms for both counts, starting at 12 1/2 years for someone with no criminal history.

"In Minnesota, the most serious charge of second-degree murder carries a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison. Third-degree murder carries up to 25 years behind bars and the manslaughter charge has a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. The actual length of the sentence would be determined by Judge Peter Cahill after a pre-sentence investigation."

I would love to see this and a more strategic approach. But if things are like the LA riots, the cops will step back and approach with caution if the damage happens in places like South Central. But when the protests go to more affluent areas, suddenly the piggies deem it a priority to shut stuff down.

But I would have no issue if somehow where Chauvns family and where the other 3 officers live got out and people made their way to their houses to do gods work.

how is one side expected to be peaceful with anything when **** like this happens daily?

Dude. If those kids were riding in the middle of the street in my neighborhood and talking **** to people and cops I’d take their bikes too
