RIP George Floyd

Damn, is that the Mother and Father right there?
Having to watch that?

Now THIS is the type of situations where the police supposed to have tasers and non lethal solutions for...Yo pulled up with the gun , ready to shoot anything....It’s always shoot 1st no questions asked that’s the problem :{

Baskin robinns better anyways

From the time she made that call till the time the cop arrived that fight should’ve been over.
Wtf kinda parents just watch kids fight

What kind of parents let their kid bring a knife outside to the fight. If you call the cops you go in the house and wait for them to arrive. Her being outside trying to stab folks up made her look like the offending party.

When that officer showed up the girl in pink wasn't engaged with anyone. Next thing he knows a girl is flying at her with a knife.

That girls death is on all those adults watching letting it get to that point. Her parents should've kept her in the house until the cops arrived.

So how many stab wounds are you ok with until the officer can shoot?

Honestly, as much as my emotions want to blame the cop, I really can’t in this specific situation...dude had a second to react and depending from which angle you want to look at it, he actually saved the other girls life, unfortunate none the less, specially once you understand the whole story and realize she was the one being bullied and was the one that called the cops in the first place, but he really couldn’t have known and really didn’t have time to investigate, it was a split second decision....guess he could have used his taser, but once again, she posed an imminent threat to someone else’s life with that knife, had she not been shot and actually stabbed that girl and potentially killed her, her life was gonna be ruined regardless at that point....still sad ***** situation.

Victim
Shaming?

I swear NT, y’all say the darnest things.

Bad situation all around with this one. You can only call it self defense to an extent cause shorty was the agressor and high with emotions when the cop came. And btw, a taser isn't an affective tool on a fast moving subject milliseconds away of stabing someone.

That's literally their training. If black, unload clip, ask questions later. White dudes with machine guns get better treatment than this.

That’s definitely true, I just don’t think that applies to this situation based on the cam footage, everyone there was black, he saved the life of another black girl technically, so the race angle with this cop is not as easy to pin as otherwise it would be, I think dude had seconds to make a decision and that’s what he did, guarantee you the parents of shorty in the pink will see this video and won’t be asking for the cops head.

To get out the car and immediately start letting off without any attempt to deescalate with a taser is disturbing. I understand she had a knife, but I do believe some alternative could have been used first before putting 4 lethal bullets in the kid.

Do cops not attempt to shoot at knees?

look how close non targets were. this is just reckless all around. He could just have easily have shot someone else. Dumb pigs. :smh:

Looks to be pretty close to me? No?

What would is the appropriate distance for an effective shot with the taser?

Everyone there was black which explains his complete disregard for who he was firing at or the situation he was in. I've been in trauma situations that required quick thinking but my judgement was never clouded to the point of endangering lives.

If I saw this video I'd be like damn, I was really close to all that gun fire. This could have ended much worse than what we are seeing in the video.

Had he not done what he did, how do you think this would have unfolded otherwise? Based on this video, we can clearly come to terms that she wasn’t just waving a knife at that girl, she was going for the stab.

All this is up to personal interpretation, tbh....

based On this video alone we can’t really pin anything on this cop, maybe if he has a history of brutality towards black people then we can go down that path that he simply didn’t give a damn....but based on this video, we can just as easily claim he was a cop that made a split second decision that saved a life, unfortunately took the life of another girl who he just didn’t have the time to assess if she was the aggressor or simply defending herself and tbh at this point that no longer mattered....to one set of black parents this dude killed their baby, to the other set this same guy saved theirs.

I rather have a knife wound, than myself or someone else getting killed. They have tasers for situations like this. If that were a white girl, she would still be alive.

My aim is not that great and i'm pretty sure I could have shot that girl below the waist avoiding the risk of lethal injury to her or the girl being assaulted, but the pig didn't care.

Again this comes full circle back to training. The chose the dumbest society has to offer and military rejects for this job.

You are talking as though a knife can’t kill you man...
And if that was your kid in the pink, you’d seriously be upset at this cop and would in all honesty much rather have your baby girl bleeding out, as long as the cop didn’t fire a shot at the person that stabbed her?

and aiming at a knee increases the chances of a stray bullet injuring someone else, that’s why we all know cops are trained to shoot center mass, so technically this cop did as he was teained

A gun is more deadly. This isn't up for debate. She wasn't wielding a Hattori Hanzo sword.

Is not more or less deadly, they are both deadly depending on how they are used, one is more efficient than the other....but I fear a knife the same I would a gun tbh...I know emotions and police brutality history wants us all to treat this cop like another Chauvin....but it just won’t stick based on this footage

Yea, I'd take my chances with the weapon that kills less efficiently. If the girl were white, the cops wouldn't have assumed she could shank someone to death in seconds. Bias plays a role here.

It's the same reason why if Jason Vorhees were attacking me they would shoot him but if it were a little white girl they wouldn't. The little white girl may know advanced knife martial arts but I'm not going to get that privilege of her getting shot.

There are no emotions here. Why do people bring that up to make their points. My view of this situation is based on risk assessment not emotions sweetie.

With that being said, f%%$ the police.

A lot of you guys are not looking at that situation objectively. A knife is a deadly object. Office saw knife being swung and girl lunging at other girl. How did the girl have time to get the knife but not time to stay in the house until the police came or how did she get the knife?

What if you were a concealed carry holder and saw someone lunging at your daughter with a knife? "oh maybe the knife wound wont be that bad"

Here in chicago just last week an office shot a 13 year old boy once in the chest who died after chasing him down. The 13 year old had a gun in his hand.

The situation sucks all around

Removing the cop/civilian aspect for a minute. If one of you were coming at me with a knife I have the right to defend myself with a firearm, you are threatening my life. ALSO, if I was in a situation were I saw someone attempting to stab/stabbing another person, I have the right to defend the life of the person being stabbed assaulted with a firearm. You have the right to protect your life and the life of others.

if I saw someone lunging at my daughter with a knife, I don't trust my aim enough to not shoot my daughter as well. Which is why I probably won't let off 5 rounds above the waist. It depends on how close my daughter is to the assailant. If she is already being stabbed then all bets are off but close lunging and me firing in the general direction 5 times can easily end in me killing my daughter.
