Marvin Isley, bassist for the legendary R&B group the Isley Brothers, died Sunday in Chicago of complications of diabetes, according to the Internet sites Spinner.comand Chicago Now. He was 56.

Isley was too young to join the family musical dynasty when the Isley Brothers first hit the big-time in the 1950s and 1960s with hits like “Shout, “Twist and Shout
