RIP New York Hip-Hop? (Need Some Feedback)

^ a boogie verse was weak af. Flex was sitting in his chair bored, then Don Q came on and [emoji]128293[/emoji][emoji]128293[/emoji] the room up

Who in NY rap is coming with a new/refreshing sound right now other than Rocky who for some reason seems to be overlooked by NYers...what is your equivalent to a Chance The Rapper, Young Thug, Future or even a Drake (who even with all the wave riding, does have a pretty unique sound when he gets in his bag with 40)...
rocky is some down south texas **** which is cool but don't call it fresh or unique.

Relatively to what was out at the time it was and is unique.

He took cloud rap and Houston **** and mixed it with NY swag and flavor. Who else sounds exactly like Rocky with the Houston **** + clams casino beats or even who else at the time had a record like Peso?

This is like Kanye wearing bell bottoms tomorrow and now everyone rocks bell bottoms and ****** turn around and wanna give credit to JJ Evans from Good Times . Like it's okay to give credit to someone for bringing something back or putting new flavor on something.

No he wasn't

RIP Chinx but People love to show love when you dead but nobody said this or supported his good music en masse when he was alive

I'm on the record stating that Chinx was one of my favorite new rappers prior to him dying. There's even a thread I made on it. Chinx was definitely next up.

son was a break out single away from poppin off, even thou he had french assisted hits, he needed that undeniable smash.

and  @ other folks acting salty NYC treated ya acts like step children...

my response to that is....so? have we forgotten that NYC created hiphop music period?

of course da NYC scene wasn't effing with no other region except da west, and jerz/philly..if you wasn't making music that stood up to that scrutiny then it was gonna fade to Bolivia.

my thing is people talking bout NYC and eaat coast music is "dead" when it actually is just da default position when u wanna have clean production when u don't wanna OD bounce or when u don't want g-funk west coast elements.

like i said before, that Drake Its too late record was STRAIGHT east coast/NYC vibes. alot of them drums could've been lox/ghostface/Raekwon tracks.

Jay still putting on for NY by his presence in the rap game. Ever since Nas faded out D-Block been the only relevant NY rappers out there.

Action Bronson and Joey Bad are my 2 fav rappers right now. And we also got cats like Bamz, Flatbush Zombies, French, etc... making a little bit of noise. But sadly, Rocky's really been the only young NY rapper w/ mainstream success since 50. The main issue is just that NY rappers are focused on making "street" music. The West came back into the picture cause they had an influx of young rappers who werent afraid to take chances and step out of the box. NY wont be back as a whole until something similar happens over here.

Tru that. he's had HUGE success w/ Panda. But I'm talking more along the lines of continuous success. Dude's who've been relevant for at least a couple years and have had multiple hit songs. We don't know whether Desiigner's gonna turn out to be a dud or not yet. Still too early.

Name the last rapper in general besides drake with a 1 song on the hot 100

^ oh well. Fetty had like 4-5 smash hits that were on nonstop radio rotation last year. May not have went #1, but they were still huge records. I'm sure a new artist coming into the game would rather be known from having multiple hits as opposed coming thru w/ one #1 song and leaving ppl uncertain as to whether or not they could make another one...
