Two weeks ago we relayed a story out of Seattle concerning former SuperSonics center Robert Swift. Swift, out of professional basketball despite being in the same high school and NBA draft class as Dwight Howard, refused to leave his foreclosed-upon mansion, barricading himself in a home strewn with beer cans, tacky paraphernalia, and Chevrolet El Caminos with missing engines.
The best case scenario, considering the visible bullet holes and preponderance of beer empties, has come true. Swift has left the house, and it didn’t take some alcohol-inspired shootout to pull him out. The best case scenario is still pretty nasty, though. Watch, courtesy of KOMO:

There’s not really much more to add. Robert Swift won’t even turn 28 until December, but his short bursts of playing time in Seattle and Oklahoma City didn’t produce much – Basketball-Reference lists Daniel Santiago, Stuart Gray, and Granville Waiters amongst his career’s similarity scores. It’s a reach to expect that Swift drank all, or even any, of the beer and liquor that was once in those empties, but it’s probably safe to say that Swift isn’t in tip top shape at this point.
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying adult beverages in moderation, and though I’m not a fan there are ways to dabble with safe and responsible target shooting. Badass Chevrolet El Camino rehabilitation is to be admired, and not mocked. Dogs can be cool. Retiring from hoops at a young age after giving pro hoops the old college try, no pun intended but certainly welcomed in retrospect, is just fine.
Swift seems to have gotten it all mixed up, though. Hopefully the next time he pops up on our radar, the news we relay will leave us a little more optimistic.

Let's put 30 seconds on the clock and see how many jokes we can come up with:

He always seemed like such a standup dude.

I bet they find a Birdman shrine somewhere.

Hopefully, that's all they find (no bodies).

When called upon, Dog the Bounty Hunter said, "!+%* that."

This dude is an idiot.
Really Im originally from bako.
This guy was getting tutored as a senior by freshman.
Dumbass :lol

He was suppose to be Seattles Savior? :lol

Who ever said that? Sonics fans were livid when they drafted him. Then they turned borderline homicidal when they picked Petro and Sene in the following two drafts.

I Lost it when I read that Comment on one of the Swift articles

All the people hoping for Stern to get rid of the one-year rule and go back to GM's having to guess potential on HS prospects need to remember examples like this.

Bonus, Before his 24th birthday Swift was paid (by the fans) over 11 mil to play a few minutes in 97 total NBA games.

The before & after looking at that house is crazy. Its a shame how everything turned out with him in regards to his career & his current situation.
