This is the response I got back from Solereview on Peg 31
31 Review
Me...... 7 days ago. Just re-read the review on the Pegasus 31. It says the 31 has cut out the arch support and is purely targeted to regular to high arch runners. I did a wet foot print to kinda show the curvature of my foot. It seems that I have a very low arch. If the arch support was done away with, and I have little to no arch why would I need arch support. Maybe I'm looking at the statement backwards. I always thought if you had a high arch you'd need that support from the shoe itself. Hope I explained well enough for you to understand. Thanks...

The more shoes we review, the more we’ve convinced that under-arch support feature in a shoe isn’t as important as what brands makes it out to be. The prevalent theory was that lower arches need support to prop them up, and higher arches don’t, as they need to collapse to do their job properly. But like, we said, we don’t think it is that simple, and the same applies to the whole pronation control thing. As long as the shoe fits well, blends cushioning and support in equal measures, that is most what matters.
But yes, in the marketing context of under-arch support, you’re looking at the statement backwards.
I post this in regards of the guy looking for running shoes. When it comes to runners, it's gonna be a hit or miss. A set purpose of a shoe do not work for everybody. The only thing I agree on is that you have to start somewhere. Thus when buying from a running store, they allow you to test the shoes out. If it doesn't meet your standards then you can return them. They understand even though a shoe is built for stability, overpronators, impact protection, etc etc...it still might not suite you. Example was the Brooks Ghost 7 and there defects from the manufacture making some of there shoes very uncomfortable. They were not aligned right. I learn all of this through reading reviews. So take a little time and review, cross reference other sites, and read the comment under the reviews. Hopes this helps...
