Runners Come In: Race Day Shoes Vol. AM 95's

its already been said that you need to get assessed by a store that knows what theyre doing. on that same note, once you do figure out which category ofrunners you fall into, you also have to try them on before you make a purchase (such as online). to give you an example, my fave pair of runners are the gelkayano 14. ive gone through 3 pairs in the past and its by far the most comfortable for my feet. so when gel kayano 15 came out they should be a naturalprogression right? no. they were uncomfortable after certain longer distances, they weren't nearly as stable and i just didn't feel as comfortable. sowhen you do find out what kind of shoes you need to look at, try them all on before you make a decision. ideally you want the pair that fits you the mostnaturally and feels as if its molded to your feet. try them on, walk around the store and get a feel for them. if gel kayano 14s weren't an option i'dgo with some of the brooks ive tried on in the past. they fit great and they barely feel like theyre even there.

....I always ran in some beat jordans. Whether it was middle schoolcross country or my daily runs in boxing and wrestling.
You're a Cali dude right? Which half marathon you running?
Yessir. I will be running in the Rock N Roll marathon in San Jose on Oct. 4. A ladyfriend from high school (goes to SJSU now) signed me up.....

Then you've been misguided by all your peers telling you that running in Jordans is okay.

If you ever are inclined to do another one, sign up for the Big Sur Half Marathon.

One of the premier runs in California.

less than 2 weeks to go and you're only running 2-3 miles at a time?

kinda my initial thought, too. dude has no shoes, notraining... and he's asking NT for advice on it all. He's in a bad situation right now and doesn't even know it. He's going to die at mile 6

Seriously - the shoes are probably the least of your worries.

Not saying you should be doing 13 mile training runs but you need to be able to do 6 comfortably before the day.

Anyway, get yourself to a specialist running store and get something good - your feet (and the rest of you) will thank you.

Well, the tech is 26 years old. Does that help?
