running in place

you could certainly get a cardio workout from this - probably as good as doing jumping jacks or something of that nature. But i would say it's not nearlyas demanding on the body as running on a track or treadmill would be - you're not exerting force to move yourself forward, so it's not really evenrunning technically - just sort've picking your legs up and down.

i figured it would be more easier since i would not have to leave the house and come back from work exhausted. i will give it a shot to see how it goes

No, it's not as effective. Think about the movement of your legs.

It is worth it to go for a run instead of just running in place inside. You want to get the max out of your exercise time...being tired is a part of it.

If you have stairs in your house and don't feel like going outside to run just run up and down your stairs for as long as you can.

just be careful - going downstairs quickly with tired legs over and over is a sure fire way to fall down them.

Makes a mess of your carpet too - it's best to do that sort of thing on concrete steps.
