Rush Cards. Does anyone use them??

What's good NT??
Lately I've been thinking of getting a Rush Card. I've read through their site and everything seems all good, but I was wondering if I could get anyfeedback on them from my NT fam. Any info, testimonials, as well as pro's and con's of having a Rush Card is welcome!

its a prepaid debit card.


when i worked at uhaul and would put holds or do authorizations on credit/debit cards. it was hilarious when chicks would pull out they pink babyphat rushcards think they doing that. i knew it wasnt goign to go through and i would tell them i wouldnt. but they feel they on top of the world because they got thatbabyphat card. and they joint gets declined and they try to blame it on our system. talking bout they just put 300 on the card.

they complicated to deal with, with authorizations because you got to call the company to get a code and what not.

I hope you're not serious with that. If you have a bank account apply for a legit credit card and not that prepaid garbage. Having a rush cardisn't a good look, not trying to be funny either.

woow, thanks for the replies, but im 16, don't have a job, as of now, and i don't know if mom dukes is down with letting me get a credit card but iwill definitley talk to her about it.
idk i just thought it seemed like a good idea, you know, know something you could put money on when you please and use it like a credit card w/out having allthe complications of a real one. ahhhwelll. lol.

just have your mom put a low limit on a real card. you'll build credit and be better off in the long run...if you use it responsibly

you need like a teen checking account or something man if you work just deposit your checks and spend n waatch ur balance so you dont overdraw it will teachyou how to save and value your funds..

but here's the thing...he can get a checking account and deposit his checks but a card with his mom as a co-signer will help him build credit making itavailable when he needs it

It doesn't matter. A rush card is not good for him or anyone. They don't require a credit check or bank account. No legit credit cardcompany will give you anything without a bank account.

My advice to OP is to get a job (fast food, whatever), take whatever you saved and open a checking account. From there, let it grow a bit then apply for acredit card.

i appreciate everyone's input man y'all have been helpful and saved me from from the hassle of what seemed like a good plan. and i heard some mentionabout credit unions, i know they have those at my school, so i will check it and see what it's all about. also i looked at that visa buxx website, it seemslike it could work also. but i just wanna thank yall again

why don't you just get a debit card? i don't see the point of having a pre-paid credit card...

At your age, debit and credit cards are both bad ideas. Overdraft charges are no joke. Look into Visa Gift Cards. Those might be better for your purpose.

if you are gonna spend the extra money puttin cash in just go to walgreens and buy one a visa gift to go card which works pretty much the same way i guess...

if you want the ones that are reloadable i think it costs 5 extra

and anything that's not reloadable is like 3.95

either way you are losing out on some dough i assume
