RT not bad. Have some earbuds on deck and watch for puddles.

It ain't bad, but it's not great. Likewhat @Wayniac211  said, have some earbuds at all times and you'll be fine.

This right here. It gets the job done, however if you are in a rush to get somewhere, you might have to resort to Uber or Lyft. What area of Sacramento are you moving to?

Where are you commuting from in Sac.

If you're working downtown, then you can probably take the lightrail into downtown. Not sure about the buses, though.

Buses in West Sac sucked. Took forever to get on a bus and had to deal with all the homeless tweakers on bikes asking for money or wanting me to buy something off their cart[IMG]

the gold line from folsom to downtown sac and vice versa has been terrible. 3 trains sometimes even 2 trains running during rush hour lately. its packed like sardines in there. :x

an RT officer was shot about a week ago near the RT stop in north highlands

aside from that it's okay at times

Lyft is cheaper from what I heard from my brother and some friends.

I live in EG, the only public transportation I've taken was the e-tran buses after middle school and first couple years of high school, which was horrible cause niglets were screaming at each other when they were 2 inches from each other).

Install both uber and Lyft onto your phone. Check prices for both before calling a car. Uber usually has surge pricing on during and a bunch of times Lyft would be cheaper. Without surge, uber is cheaper.

A lot of my co workers do. I used it sparingly while attending Sac State. Otherwise I stay far far away from it.

over the years, from hearing about it on the news; they talked extensively about the shortcomings of the local public transit and the improvements needed when the new arena plans were being discussed, that was generally the conclusion I kinda came away with [IMG]

For the most part, people can just walk on. Sure they randomly check tickets here and there but there are scores of people who ride for free. Those who typically do aren't always necessarily a good crowd. A lot of stations also attract homeless, mentally ill, etc. it can be uncomfortable for commuters who aren't used to that or just don't want to deal with it. 16th street station is horrible. Can't be over there without someone coming up to you.

OP, depending on where you're working/living, biking is always a good option. I live in midtown and walk/bike everywhere for the most part. Probably use my car once a week.

Used to commute to downtown from elkgrove daily on RT. Not that bad compared to the foolery/crowded that happens on other big city transit like Bart(sf) or valley metro (Phx).
Many that ride are State, county or city employees. You can see their badge and free monthly passes that are given out. Some have loot to. Elk Grove and franklin stations have nice whips in parking lot. Lot of tail looking fine as well 😈

    This is true lol.

But I noticed after 7 o'clock, the goon gang comes out, so I ended up driving to and from work.

If I did move back to Sac, I'd probably find a place downtown and either walk or bike.

The fire is 3 miles from my apartment but we haven’t been ordered to evacuate yet. I’m hoping I don’t get that alert, the photos of the Napa Sonoma region are insane.
