Can anybody answer a question I have about the first Saw?
Didn't Dr. Gordon and that other dude have a gun at some point? Why couldn't they just shoot their chains off? And even if that didn't work, wouldn't they maybe be able to saw through the chain at that point if it was really weakened (from thegunshots)? Just something I was thinking about because I just saw the first one.

If I remember correctly, there was only one bullet in the box. Gordon? was told that the other dude had something to do with the kidnapping ofhis family. Saw planted that seed of hate. And since there was only one bullet, Gordon did what any father or husband would, he shot the dude. Hecouldn't take off his chain because the key, which had been attached to the other dude, had went down the drain in the beginning. So the only way he wouldsee his fam again would be to cut through his leg to get the chain off, since the door was about to close forever on him.
I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on that.

and just for kicks we later find out in another movie that there was no way out upstairs so i still would like to know how he made it out but imputting money on him bleeding to death some where in the house

I think this is the problem that most people have with the series, even if they won't admit it. They just got confused at some point with allthe twists and curveballs so they're just like "...$#%$ it, it's stupid, corny, ******ed, etc." I can't really fault people for thinkingthat since the movies require you to pay close attention at all times...but if you can get past the gore and suspense, the story is really pretty good. The wayit unravels at the end and "pieces" everything together with previous films is dope.
Saw 3 and 4 are basically one movie. 5 is the sequel to that. The 6th (and hopefully final) film is really the 5th of the franchise in termsof continuity.
That's probably what happened.
That @@@# would be corny as $#%$.
Once they resort to gimmicks like that, I'll be done with the Saw franchise.
