Why is it that when someone gets scammed, they run to the general forum to report it?

Of all these "Help, Ive been scammed" threads I have not been notified ONCE on any of them. Do these people not realize that the buy/sell guides are here for a reason more than just to approve posts/replies?

its more of a way just to air out that person that did the "scamming"...

yeah, but some of us have jobs and families and don't sit around all day for new posts or replies to show up.

I do not think the Buy/sell mods sit at their computers all day, refreshing the Buy/sell screening waiting for a post to be made.

at the same time the seller might also have a job and a family, and dont make the sold item and buyer a high priority. By blowing them up in general can give them a bad name when they've just taken a few extra days to ship....

...and waiting two weeks to blow dudes up in general isnt exactly looking for a quicker action.

Maybe that means that they gave the person 2 weeks to ship and then decided to make the thread.
Regardless, I don't see how those threads can help.

Its your job as a seller to let the buyer know when you'll be sending it out.

if this were the case then the seller wastes everyones time posting up the item for sale. if you wanna sell something and get paid, be attentive to it. if you wanna buy something, have the money in hand, not like two weeks later. Both parties wait to the item for be delivered. if either party fails to do so in a timely way, threads will pop up

pay and receive all payments thru paypal with a credit/debit card to be very secure. One, the transaction is documented, and Two, if something arises you can file a claim or a chargeback(debits depend on the bank).
Be sure to protect yourself before and after the transaction. Document everything, and shipping is very important as well. Keep the receipts, purchase confirmation, and insurance.

Based on my observations the scammed thread posters come in general with good intentions of getting "help" then the threads turn into posting phone numbers and addresses and get personal
