School me on the XVII +

These are my grails but I don't really know the story behind them. Why did JB make these a + model? Were these shoes a celebration of something significantthat MJ did during his time with the Wizards?

didn't really celebrate anything special at the time + models were the thing for jb, like laser is now.

They are a nice shoe. Weren't limited, sold not very well in many areas. Have a weird piece of extra material at the bottom of the laces. JB also did plusshoes with the XVI and then moved to the .5 with the 18. It was just JB putting out some different stuff.

did these come all the extra stuff the regular XVIIs came with? I'm talking about the lace locks, the cover, cd & metal case.

^ No, just a regular box and no cd, but they did come with black velour bags for each shoe.

I have a size 12 if you're interested.

2003 - 18.5
2004 - XIX SE
2005 - XX 5/8
2006 - XXI PE
2007 - XXII PE

although they don't just call them "+", it's still the same concept of a shoe with the same midsole/outsole and different uppers.

And for the un-educated NT herbs these lace locks were the same color as the very bottom of the shoe shoe a shade of purple. I can't remember the exactshade of purple, maybe someone with them can read the box tag

yea, I was in 7th grade when these dropped and I lived overseas. saw these in a SLAM and immediately fell in love. been looking for em since I startedcollecting last June. If anyone selling in size 14, hit me up

I've never been a big fan of XVII's but I've always liked the copper joints up above and over the course of time have started to like andappreciate the XVII more. At least I'll have some when the packs arrive.

Your Grails?...those?...lol, i would have picked a better shoe. they aren't that bad, don't get me wrong, but not as a grail shoe..never really dug the17's..and this version was a lil better but nothing i would cop. like one of the guys on here said, these are like the P.E.'s i wouldn't say LStho..
