Screen resolution help.

I have a windows XP, and I have a magnavox 21" lcd, I used to have it at 1024 x 768 but now when I set it to 1024 x 768 the screen is bigger than my monitor, and if I move my mouse the screen moves along with it.
It's currently set at 800x600.
