I got a few kicks with clear soles. I was thinking about ordering some sea glow for them. I had a few questions about it before I ordered. Maybe ya'll canhelp me out. If your going to help, keep your smart comments to yourself. This isn't a "sneaker maintence" forum question, plus I don't feellike going through 70 pages to find a answer. this is more on peoples personal opinions that have used the producted.

1.) How good are the results from using this? haven't seen any before after pics?
2.) my soles aren't badly yellowed but would I need to apply sea glow more than once when I first clean them?
3. I got a pair of 01 retro 11's, the soles arent bad at all but wouldn't mind making them more clearer, being that the sole is a translucent red andnot actually clear. could I still use sea glow on them? *(never heard anyone mention this before, only about "clear" soles)
4. I was on the website to order sea glow and i read something about a "Sealant". after applying sea glow do I have to put a sealant on?
5. How long does sea glow last before I have to reapply again.
6. When applying, how long should I leave it on the soles before I take it off. I heard if its too long, it'll eat at the glue and make the sole come off.

Thanks in advance for the input. I appreciate it. Like I said, keep your smart comments to yourself. Im asking a legit question.

That's not gonna fly very well with those whom actually do their research...

But I wouldnt apply seaglow to black red 11s. I'd just clean them with a magic eraser. Works very well.

And leaving sea glow on soles too long will ruin the adhesives.

Co-sign with magic eraser for your black red XI's.
Sea glow hurts traction, if left on too long in the heat, your soles could separate (glue melts, carbon fiber plate on XI's gets hot)
In my experience it helps a little, I have not put in enough effort though, I'm sure I could get better results.

There are rules to the forum. This is clearly a maintenance question, you might want to check your spelling on the word maintenance as well. The forum is brokedown into sections to keep it organized, and easy to use. Not to mention you asked for criticism by calling us out before anyone even said anything. I'msurprised anyone even gave you a response with your attitude.

I dont know much about sea glow so I cant really answer your question but I dont see why these people just cant answer your question instead of freaking outabout what forum it should be in. He just wanted to ask a quick question so just answer it!

^^^Are you a english teacher? who's spelling is always correct when typing on the internet? and how is the Sneaker Maintenance post broken into sections??I clearly see 70 pages worth of post that I dont feel like reading through. ALSO I didn't have a attitude. Ive been a member on Niketalk for a while and Iusually see people trying to make smart remarks towards other people that ask a simple question. I don't have time for that. Sorry Im not as knowledgableabout sneakers like you are. In real life I probably know more than you, but thats neither here or there. Like I said before, you don't want to help meout, fine. dont bother to comment. plain and simple. I appreciate the other people on Niketalk that are willing to help out. I thought thats what this site wasabout. Get a life man, its only the internet.

Ask here next time to avoid all these mini-mods: OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

Never done it on non-clear soles myself, don't see the point....
You don't need the sealant but I've heard it protects the soles longer...
Seaglow doesn't eat the glue, the sun heats the glue and melts it, usually it can be re-attached while the glue is still soft...

wow smh at the minimods on here, i don't blame dude for not wanting to go through 70 pages either. if your not going to post helpful info then why botherresponding. thats just a female tendancy to get on someone about something so unnecessary.

if the soles aren't that yellow then i wouldn't use seaglow. i bought a pair of ds cool grey xi's from someone on here that had yellowed soles. iordered some seaglow to fix the soles and it made them look significantly better but part of the soles started to seperate. i bought some shoe goo and glued itback together and everything was good to go.

You guys are far too anal with this... You couldn't just answer dude's question? Jesus; you'd better not deface the sanctity of NT. Or misspellanything, apparently. Grammar counts when you're writing about kicks. Take a pill.

I'm pretty experienced with Sea Glow on the 11s...

1.) How good are the results from using this? haven't seen any before after pics?
-I think I lost my pics when NT cut over and don't have on my hard drive. I'll post if I can find them

2.) my soles aren't badly yellowed but would I need to apply sea glow more than once when I first clean them?
-usually if they are yellow enough to make you want to sea glow them, you have to do them more than once

3. I got a pair of 01 retro 11's, the soles arent bad at all but wouldn't mind making them more clearer, being that the sole is a translucent red and not actually clear. could I still use sea glow on them? *(never heard anyone mention this before, only about "clear" soles)
-DON'T use it on the black/reds. Magic Eraser like everyone else said

4. I was on the website to order sea glow and i read something about a "Sealant". after applying sea glow do I have to put a sealant on?
-No

5. How long does sea glow last before I have to reapply again.
-Back when I had time (and actually cared about having clear soles) I'd treat them once a year

6. When applying, how long should I leave it on the soles before I take it off. I heard if its too long, it'll eat at the glue and make the sole come off.
-This isn't true. People separate their soles because they leave them in the sun too long and the glue un-dries. You don't want the sea glow touching the carbon fiber or getting underneath the outsole, though.

This thread is from 2009 why the hell you quoting people?!?
