Only caught bits of this game, but why didn't Halman play in left for Carlos int he 9th? Or was he playing in right for the DH Ichiro?
Looks like Adam was DH'ing and Ichiro was back in Right today.
Like Paul said, more time needs to be given to Halman and Carp at this point. I dont even understand why Paguero is given so much more time than those two
Kyle Seager will be the Mariners' new everyday third baseman
Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik says Kyle Seager and his .455 batting average from Class AAA are being brought in to man third base on a daily basis starting tomorrow night in Anaheim.
"He's going to play third base," Zduriencik said. "He's earned the shot right now and we need the offense."
Adam Kennedy will get playing time at other positions for now. You also have to wonder whether Zduriencik plans on dealing Kennedy at some point soon.
"He can play multiple positions so we'll find place for him to play," Zduriencik said. "These things tend to have a way of working themselves out
http://
Zduriencik used the same "things will work themselves out" line when it came to Chone Figgins and his future. The team clearly has too many infielders and DH types sitting around not doing a whole lot and a trade or two might clear some of it up quickly.
The Seager move is something Zduriencik said he'd contemplated prior to the current road trip. But he wanted to be sure Miguel Olivo was healthy first before jettisoning third catcher Jose Yepez.
Olivo played in only one game last night. But manager Eric Wedge felt comfortable enough about his health and Zduriencik figured the team needed an offensive boost from someplace given how the games in Oakland went. Now, the team can play Kennedy elsewhere -- including first base, where Justin Smoak hasn't looked good at the plate -- while using someone other than Figgins at third.
I suspect Kennedy will get a lot more DH time as well. Jack Cust will soon be dealt, I'd imagine, or simply released
No more Figgy, Thank God

Good, get these overpaid, over the hill veterans out of here. They're awful. Figgins is Seattle's worst criminal right now.
