SEATTLE SEAHAWKS THREAD

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll  told reporters after today’s practice that receiver Percy Harvin had successful surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in his hip by Dr. Bryant Kelly in New York today.

Carroll said Harvin will remain there for two weeks to rehab after surgery before returning to the team.

“We don’t have any dates, or timelines or that kind of stuff,” Carroll said. “But we’re going to be very optimistic, and hopefully he’s going to get back as soon as possible, and gradually we can get him fixed up and ready to go.”

Carroll said the expectation remains that Harvin will return to action during the 2013 season.

“With all the information we got, we’re more hopeful that he will have a chance to get back,” Carroll said.

Carroll also provided some information on the injury status of starting middle linebacker Bobby Wagner, who has missed the past two training camp practices with a sore shoulder.

“We’re resting some guys,” Carroll said. “There’s an array of guys that we’re resting, just because it’s that time to do that. But we’ve got a couple, nagging groins and things like that. Nothing serious at this point, but Bobby’s shoulder is kind of sore. And you saw that Luke (Willson) was out here in a red shirt just because he has a sore shoulder, too.”

Carroll said he expects Sidney Rice  back from his trip to Switzerland, where he’s receiving preventative treatment for a knee issue, in the next day or so.

Tight end Zach Miller  and running back Robert Turbin, who both started training camp on the PUP list with foot issues, are expected to get going in the next week or so.

“Turbo has a chance to get back next week some time,” Carroll said. “For sure in two weeks, if everything keeps going like it is. He’s running now. He’s working out hard. “We’re just trying to make sure that we give him enough time to get back in shape, so once he starts working at the clip we go at, that he’ll be all right. And that’s the same with Zach.”

Defensive lineman Jesse Williams  sat out again after practicing fully on Tuesday with a knee issue.

“We’re just going to try and get him back out there and keep him healthy,” Carroll said. “We think it’s better to rest him. He worked really hard yesterday, and so we thought it would be a good plan to try and ease him back in.”

Carroll acknowledged there’s a chance that defensive end Chris Clemons  is far enough along in his surgery that he could see action in a preseason game.

“We’re really excited about the progress he’s been making,” Clemons. “We’ve got some hopeful thoughts about that, that we’ll kind of keep under our hat. But he’s doing well.

Carp is MIA from practice after leaving yesterday with some kind of injury. He's looking very good in Camp up to this point too

Please let this line stay healthy

im not to worried about the line. Tom Cable has proven to be able to make bums look like starters

Also made me heartbroken once again over the Atlanta loss and pondering what could have been :lol :{

They're back on the field again tomorrow though can't wait, I actually kinda like pre-season haha.

Im really interested to see how this three headed monster will work

Bevell better do work

Heavy load of Christine Michael tonight.
You're going to see Christine Michael right off the bat," Carroll said. "I don't mind telling you that. I'm kind of anxious to see that myself."

Percy Harvin's absence leaves an opening at kickoff returner, and Michael – the running back Seattle selected out of Texas A&M – is going to get first crack. Cornerback Jeremy Lane and receiver Golden Tate are also considerations.

Expect a good deal of the carries to wind up in the hands of Michael on Thursday night.

"He's going to get a load," Carroll said.
Feels good, man.

Official list of guys out tonight:
Harvin, Rice, Walters, Turbin, Simon, Parker, Irvin, Wagner, Avril, Toomer, Unger, Person, Carpenter, Miller, Fells, Clemons, Scruggs, McDaniel.
