SEATTLE SEAHAWKS THREAD

The JSN holding, the missed fg, smh. Last week seems like so long ago when they won comfortably.

Not a good half. Too many missed tackles on that TD drive by TB. Ended it nicely with that JSN TD. They get the ball to start the 2nd half. Score a TD and it’s a new ball game.

Defense got shredded. TF were they doing out there? Their receivers didn’t have a defender around within 10 yds.

I think we're entering yet another phase of fandom in Seattle. It happened to the Sounders eventually. When they launched in 2009, the stadium was full of a younger crowd than other sports (and definitely season ticket holders), the city was coming off of the worst season in any city's history, and there was so much energy. Those early Sounders games were LIT. Years later, I remember reading stories about how Sounders crowds had mellowed out, even when they were doing well, because those young people got married, had kids, and settled down. They were selling their tickets to most games, and there was no sense of community anymore.

I think we're seeing a shift with Seahawks crowds, albeit a different type. People are priced out of games, especially families, so you're not bringing in new fans for the experience. Transplants are taking all the re-sale tickets because it's a lucrative market, and the Seahawks do nothing to shut it down. The Seahawks used to be a guaranteed 6-2, at worst, at home. Now, they fight for their lives there because the home field advantage is gone.

Definitely a shift in fans

Also helps when you have an elite defense back then
