Whaddup NT. Hope yall doing good tonight. Anyone know any good stretches or exercises I can do in the gym to avoid getting shin splints? They've been killing me lately. Can't even run without that intense pain kicking in

Shin splints are actually stress fractures that need rest. I've been battling them the past two years.

Check your shoes. Make sure they are fit for you. I recently upgraded to the lunar eclipse using Nike's online fitting site. Big difference.

I also stopped doing calf raises or any lower leg workouts. I stick to squats and lunges right now.

Experiment with different insoles as well. The right insole can help ease your pain.

The final thing I did was start taking an amino acid pill/drink. I was taking Leukic, but found a cheaper alternative. If you get anything with leucine, isoleucine and valine it can really help. I take it before and after working out or playing ball and it has really made a difference.

I still get it occasionally, but when I feel it coming I know to stop, because you will only worsen the condition.
