Shooting Reported at Las Vegas Casino Hotel

Listen I don't want more gun laws which ultimately just makes criminals out of law abiding citizens, HOWEVER there needs to be at least more restrictions on who gets the guns. As you mention it's comparable with cars... liability insurance should be mandated on anyone purchasing a gun, mandatory gun training test, and photographs/fingerprinting to track the weapons purchased. Also the most fundamental thing that has to change is a medical clearance to purchase a gun. A piss test indicating what drugs is in the person and also a Doctor waiver meaning... your medical doctor has to clear you. Do you really want someone taking Zoloft for the past 2 years purchasing 10 AR rifles in a 12 month span?

I agree generally. It just seems way too difficult to regulate in a practical way. Folks already beating piss test for jobs. But I agree with the spirit of what you sayin.

:blush:Just found out my auntie was at the show and is in critical condition ... she called and said she was fine but I guess things took a turn for the worst

So the laws and regulations are pointless because they can be worked around?
Again you miss the point and purpose of laws. We had this conversation already. Again, we are backtracking.

No, not pointless. But since this event sparked the conversation, it is safe to say that the laws wouldn't have prevented this. That is the implication that happens when there is a tragedy and law makers say "we need more gun control." You can disagree, but that is the issue.

Of course we shouldn't. And I know that it wouldn't disarm citizens completely. In fact, I think most gun owners could careless because they don't buy the majority of their guns/ammo from private sellers and gun shows. But since you concede that this conversation was sparked by this event, it is odd to say that the facts of this situation are irrelevant. You understand that it wouldn't have changed anything. Unfortunately, many of the people who are hurting from the attack are attempting to find hope in the idea that "maybe a law would have helped." It just isn't true.

That's impossible to say. Probably wouldn't have changed anything. But I've seen smaller things deter people. The butterfly effect is real.

As stated in this thread, it has been conceded that more regulations may not have prevented this but it is possible that he got all those weapons because he was simply legally able to get them.

It could also be noted that he got a bump stock instead of getting an illegal automatic weapon. So if he did use an AR with a bump stock to get auto-like fire instead of getting an illegal automatic machine gun we could say it could have been worse without gun regulations and if there were more restrictions he wouldn't have had as many weapons/as strong weapons because again, he got all his weapons legally.

I'm not sure that it has been confirmed that he didn't have any fully automatic weapons in the room. But, in any event, I actually agree with you on the bump stock, and I think most law makers are agreeing that those should be illegal. The sad reality is that terrorists like dude, with financial means like dude, can likely only be stopped by changing their mindset/heart.

Anyone see that 4chan post from last month warning people to avoid large crowds in Vegas? Creepy

There were probably a bunch of other warnings and predictions about shootings. This one just happened to stick.

It's the same principle as Nostradamus: He wrote a whole bunch of **** and later on people who believe he could actually predict the future tried to fit all the stuff he wrote that vaguely resembled events that actually happened while ignoring everything else he wrote.

Sad thing is there’s people out here calling everything not seen on the news a conspiracy theory.

I've been shocked on how many people on my timeline are coming up with these wild theories and conspiracies. They just want any amount of evidence to say 'SEE, I TOLD YOU SO'... Hate these attention seekers man, especially during tragedy when people are mourning

I remember reading theories on here when the boston marathon bombing happened :smh:

Probably will never release it.

They’ll release some footage, probably won’t get the full amount.

Also, there may not be a lot of footage either. He could’ve just ordered room service for most/all his meals. Gambled maybe for an hour or two and then grabbed more ammo/guns from his car then back in his room hiding out.

Not only will you not see casino footage of the incident, you won't see footage of the shooter anywhere in the casino during the entire time he was there. Vegas casinos are very good at suppressing that stuff.

But they dropped video of him from 2011? Didn’t these type of hotels drop video of that NFL player dragging his girl out of the elevator and JayZ getting in a scuffle with Solange I don’t know why it’s bugging me that they won’t release any video of him yet.
