Shooting Reported at Las Vegas Casino Hotel

A witness to the Las Vegas massacre says it was a scene of "pure chaos and carnage," but it was amazing to see police officers and other first responders risk their own lives to help victims.

"In a world where everyone's kneeling, I saw hundreds of people standing up and running towards the danger," Russell Bleck said on "Happening Now."

Bleck said he saw people with medical or military backgrounds rushing to administer aid, including plugging others' bullet wounds with their fingers and using their bodies to shield people.

Fox News

Fox News is so trash

gun control is such a slippery slope...it really is near impossible to control how or when or who purchases them in order to prevent these acts of terrorism from happening again...

This. Plus, a lot of the very staunch gun advocates are already blowing the brains out of animals for sport, so words such as "gun control" or "gun reform" hit them right in the heart, like they're guns will be snatched from them, even though that's not the case.

Great Long read. 8)

you know me, I had to say something.

nah, but seriously, the reason I spend so much time in forums like this as part of what I do is that I'm addicted to human perspective...I find us fascinating, so I read everybody's thoughts on everything...subreddits, social media...hell, Stormfront. I like to be privy to everyone's brand of bull****.

I say that to highlight that there are a LOT of people with mindsets and mentalities that could easily lead them to commit acts like this on the wrong day of their lives.

from where I'm sitting, society is fundamentally flawed for a long list of reasons...bottom line is people aren't happy. their lives are ****ed up.

hurt people hurt people...it's one of the truest things I've ever heard.

we have to fix this ****, and fix it for real.

By funding a federal agency and local officials to do the data collection and telling people it is mandatory to register or report their guns. Millions of extended warranties are registered every year, millions sign up health insurance every year; you really think registering a majority of finite number of objects is that impossible?

People can chose not to follow the law if they chose. But that will kinda blow up the responsible gun owner defense and they will be taking the risk if their gun is ever lost or stolen.

-But dude, can you for one second get out of the "it won't be perfect, so let's do nothing mindset"

All you are doing is playing a game of "whataboutism" to dismiss the entire subject. How about instead of demanding everyone you disagree have the perfect solution right away. We as a country, demand the federal government have public hearings and hear from experts on what could be done.

How about we do that before closing our minds?

What's funny is that I don't necessarily disagree with attempting to do something.

But I don't think any of you realize how embeded firearms are in a very large part of people's culture in this country.

Fox News is so trash
The saddest part is that they are the most influential news Network in America.

A recent study showed watching Fox News makes people way more conservative than they would have been. So a moderate could start watching Fox News, become a hard right conservative, but still think they are moderate and reasonable.

It has probably swung elections too.

Fox News is a damn far right propaganda machine. America would be a better place without it.

ITS JUST IMPOSSIBLE TO REGULATE GUNS

Even though they're already being regulated and have been for years. People are simply advocating for stricter federal regulations which is only "impossible" because the NRA makes it so. No one wants to take away your toys. You'll still be able to prove how much of a man you are by shooting Bambi's parents. It will just become harder to get them. That's all.
this is so myopic. we are human beings. we got here by murdering animals and eating them, just like every other carnivore on the planet. thats why you have canine teeth. vegans will argue we could be like apes and become so if we choose but thats not what ur arguing. wild game is exponentially more healthy for you than the garbage grain fed, cage raised bacteria infected meat they feed us. many people in this country and certaintly many others live off meat theve killed only. its about perspective my guy

weve had semi automatic weapons in this country a long while. certaintly longer than youve been alive, why now are things getting worse in regaurds to others valuing human life?

you HAVE to address the root of the problem

You obviously can't. You're entirely missing the point though. Again.

Criminal fingerprints and DNA weren't on databases overnight.

Pedophiles addresses weren't online overnight.

It takes time to progress. Start with guns being manufactured, like someone said introduce more buy back programs, make it mandatory for present owners to register their firearms (or amend existing legislation). Do something. For the love of Christ.

I think we do famb.

I just think that isn't a valid reason throw up our arms over this issue.

While I completely agree with the both of you, I also agree with Sneakerpro about how it's far too late to do anything. The people of this country have proven repeatedly that they're just a bunch of violent mentally deranged savages that want to terrorize and oppress people not just throughout the world but in their own country as well. You can bring up all these great solutions all you want but they'll just fall on deaf ears. The only solution for the civilized people here is to get their money and leave ASAP. I know for sure I'm not raising my children here. What's the point of coming here for better earning potential when you can be gunned down by a maniac at any given moment? I know it's easier said than done, but plenty of immigrants in the past have come here from violent war torn nations and have built lives for themselves and their descendants. It's time for us to do the same

As bad as Fox News is, AM talk radio is far worse and has a far bigger audience than Weazel News.

Most of the right-wing talking points originate on AM talk radio, then Fox News gets ahold of it and runs with them.

wow thats far. def wouldnt be surprised if some strays hit people before reaching the concert grounds. at that distance and trajectory, without a high powered sniper rifle, theres no accuracy. Dude just sprayed aimlessly :frown:

That video you posted up there is nonesense, dudes just making connections with anything, even threw in mayweather lol

What the hell are you on about? I don't give a damn about hunting.

Yeah, probably

But with that **** you kinda know what you are getting. Fox News have their audience fooled that they are moderate. Just calling it fair.

Fox News is like the gateway drug to the more potent AM radio buffoonery.

I don't like how this automatically became politicized within hours of it actually happening.

The gun control debate won't ever go away, I get that and I'm not really speaking on gun control, but people seem so ready to jump over every tragedy and leave their clammy agenda "see, we're right!" fingerprints all over the situation when people lie dead in the streets.

Tasteless images depicting shades of skin and how they relate to notions of "terrorism", utterly devoid of context and shamelessly posted for da retweets

Unnecessary factoring in of other issues or popular stories in order to say OH THIS IS WHAT WE FOCUS ON?

Unfounded social media horse**** about how the shooter is either a white supremacist, an ISIS sleeper agent, a BLM assassin, or whatever fictional supervillain identity they can assign to the ****ed up human being of the week in order to push forward their philosophy

Preemptive rationalizations by those whose political leanings might more closely align with the perpetrator (this happened in Charleston with the overwhelming verbal diarrhea regarding the "both sides" narrative)

I'm just tired of the hore****; why can't people look at each other and go, "man this is ****ed up, 58 people got shot to death. What do we need to do?" -- as opposed to the immediate LOOK TOLD YOU SO that infests the internet after every new horrific installment of American history

Forgive the rant

So when IS the right time to talk about this? Please explain. I always hear Republican savages talking about "Let's not talk about this now, people just died", but when you bring it up at other times, it's "2nd Amendment, don't tread on me, say no to big government, etc."

That video saying the dude was mind controlled and that it was the government that shot up the place? Man I read up on MK-ULTRA and I really don’t know what to believe.

At this point it’s best to not speculate make assumptions or draw conclusions because the only truth we know is that innocent people died. That woman’s picture shouldn’t have been put on blast like that imo. I don’t trust **** the media says.

So was/is racism and a lot of other **** in this country. Why even pursue civil rights in a country founded on slavery and bigotry? That's akin to what you're saying. Doesn't mean we should be any less vigilant at seeking to implement solutions to improve society. And I think we all actually DO realize how big gun culture is here, which makes it even more paramount to take steps to try and minimize these events from occurring in the future. Will their be backlash and resistance to change, of course their always is but that shouldn't make you or anyone else scared from trying. Because at the end of the day I doubt the founding fathers had this type of freedom with guns on their mind when they were firing muskets.

Just like how there are people in prisons that are beyond reformation, there are civilians in this country that will never let go of their ignorant and violent ways no matter how much you educate them or how much you try to teach them about morals. The only solution is a brutal yet beneficial dictatorship, but of course that'll never happen here. People here keep talking about freedom; I have family that live in countries that aren't as "free" but they can send their kids to schools or walk around in public places without fear of a maniac shooting up the crowd at random. A situation that would be resolved with a fistfight at worse over there would be resolved with a mass shooting over here. Americans don't deserve "freedom" if this is what they do with it

Violent incidents happen everywhere, but at this rate? I don't want to hear Americans talk about "We live in a first world country" when @#$@ like this is a monthly event
