I did mine initially about 4 years ago in a semifinal game. We won, and finals was in 2 days and i wasnt gonna miss that, so i sucked it up and played through it.
Went through PT etc. afterwards....
This past march, did the same shoulder again...i think worse than the initial one. Went for an xray which revealed the likelihood of a bankart lesion. Happened in the middle of the season, so i sucked it up coz we had a good chance of getting to the finals, and just opted for PT and taping, and kept playing.
However, everytime there's a rather strong impact, with my arm extended, it momentarily pops-out but it would pop back in again. It goes painful/numb for about a minute or so, and just gradually goes away.
I have an MRI scheduled in about a week (season finished, we lost the finals), but my specialists prognosis is that i would need surgery to get it fixed permanently
She pretty much said that once u do your shoulder, you're prone to doing it more often in the future. So we'll see how bad the damage is on the MRI and go from there...but it's looking pretty bleek for me right now
