all i know is you do not want to have a shoulder injury. I hear the only relief is surgery.

Had/have tendonitis in my right shoulder. Probably developed from baseball, but I played QB for a grip and my delivery was from all different arm slots so itdid a number on my shoulder. Went to the dr. and they gave me a rubber band for the exercises. Pretty much, just simple movements to exercise and strengthenthe shoulder.

I haven't played fball for about 2 years now so with rest my arm is fine, but usually the only way to fix this is with rest and bettering your mechanics orelse if you continue, in the long-term surgery will need to go down.

I play tennis and had some shoulder pain from serving a while back, where the motion is slightly similar to an overhand throwing action (more like anup-and-over action actually). My pain/soreness was at around the back of my shoulder. The pain wasn't unbearable and I still had full-range motion of myarm, which probably meant that my 'injury' might not have been that severe. As such, I didn't bother seeing a doc. and instead just let theshoulder rest (Advil also helped). It eventually got better after a few months and the pain went away. I did some research on the internet and came to theconclusion that it might have been some minor inflamation of the rotator cuff or shoulder bursitis (I think both are similar). I recently began serving againand, thankfully, have not felt any pain.

dealing with it now

at 1st i thought it was a lil pain then tried to go hit the weights damn near killed myself my left shoulder was so weak it wasnt even funny went to the doc afew days later and it was shoulder tendonitis

LOL. Who'd you hear this from, a surgeon? Of course there is a lot that can be done. However, it also depends on the extent of the injury. Shoulderinjuries do seem to last a long time and can be frustrating. Muscle imbalances and improper motion of the joints that make up the shoulder complex should beaddressed. It's not a simple answer I know.

I've been dealing with it for a year now. Not nearly as strong as I used to be.

play tons of high level volleyball, used to have a bad shoulder. Glucosamine with MSM, enough said.

i was beginning to feel some pain in my right shoulder when i was lifting like a couple weeks ago but didnt think too much about it but soon during the day iwould get random pain in my shoulder and i read about it and figured my rotator cuff was strained due to bad lifting technique/form plus i was ballin afterlifting which was 5 times a week so im sure those are the reasons so ive been off any overhead lifting/things that would strain my rotator cuff and basketballfor a week so far
prob will be off it for 2-3 more weeks but it sucks alot not really being able to do anything except a lil bi's/tris, legs and left hand layups

but im just gonna do some rotator cuff exercises to strengthen it after the couple of weeks and get back to my routine hopefully
