Sidekick LX question

I have a sidekick lx, not the one with 3g but the one before, when i recieve text msg the names of the senders do not pop up in my phone, even when they aresaved in my phone. Any one else have this problem?

if you don't have the data plan it won't show their names.

^ reset your phone, sometimes if does this when your phone cannot connect to the network.

am i correct in saying it doesnt "ring" either when you get a text? like they just pop up?

used to happen to me and then when it finally connected correctly all the texts would "ring"
