I'm a Freshman, at University of Alaska Anchorage and there's a recruitment meeting tomorrow for Sigma Alpha Epsilon, I've obviously never been ina fraternity...Can I ask if this would be a good idea to join?

I guess a white frat would be cool if you a white dude. As a minority, I don't know.......but that's just me though. Not bein racist. It's justwhere you feel comfortable. If I were a freshman though, I wouldn't rush it. Kick it with everyone this year and you have plenty of time to figure outwho's cool and who's not. Alaska? Wow. Couldn't even imagine goin to college there. What would Spring Break be like in Alaska?

Yes, besides visiting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge 24/7 and turning into an ice cube while watching the Iditarod, what else is there to dothere? Join the frat. At least you'll never deal with warm beer.

One of my bestfriends I grew up joined that. He's black one of like the only ones and I must say his Frat Bros are soo lame and I tell him everytime I seehim!

SAE at Michigan State is tight. I just got back from a sick party there. Personally, I'm not a frat type of guy though.

I totally disagree, I just went Meth and Red concert, Dane cook is gonna be up here soon, then Larry the cable guy is doin a show, and not too mentionIron&Wine did a show...there's a lot to do.

Spring break is cold, I'm not gonna lie. The Fraternity here is actually surprising diverse.

Most of em are......but most minorities in white frats are whitewashed, which may be good, may be bad, but most def was not my steeze. They're all prettydiverse, technically. Even my frat had some white cats in it. But again, it's to each his own. Whoever you pledge, you're gonna call those guys yourbrother. I would look around and see who I felt most comfortable with. Who's gonna really have your back. Get to know college life. I'll tell you rightnow though, pledging white frats is a thousand times easier (and more expensive) than pledging a minority or black one. Might be a stereo-type, but we alwayslooked at it as white frats BUY their letters, minority frats EARN theirs. We always looked at minorities in white frats like Carlton Banks on FreshPrince,lol. "TOTALLY, DUUUDE!!!" lol. I ain't gonna front though. They usually have better professional networks. They also have easier girls attheir parties,lol

Isn't dank legal in Alaska, or is it just legal to grow it? Either way, that prolly makes college life in Alaska more interesting. Especially with a screenname like yours, Mr. Grapes, lol.
