Since when do the responses in a thread decide if it gets locked?

My thread just got locked and I'm positive if people would've answered the question and had an open discussion then the thread would be open.  Why is the thread creator punished for things he can't control?  I didn't post those pics.  Seems like when a couple of simple minded posters said "this is ignorant" and make false claims the mods feel some type of pressure.  Nothing I said in my thread was a rule violation.

Think they should just warn people and remove the pics from the post and let the discussion continue.
