SlutWalk started in Toronto in response to a police officer's statement that, in order to avoid being raped, women should "not dress like sluts." In short time, a couple thousand scantily clad women and supporters took to the street with the message that a person's body is their own and an individual's sexual behavior-- real or perceived-- is NOT grounds to treat them as a second-class citizen.
