1 dead, 1 injured in Ketchikan shooting

KETCHIKAN, Alaska -- One young man is dead and another injured following a double shooting in Ketchikan.

Police chief Ed Talik says the shooting occurred inside a home on Main Street at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. He says when police arrived they found one man deadand the other suffering from a gunshot wound.

Talik says it appears that a 21-year-old man entered the home, shot the other man and then turned the gun on himself, killing himself.

The other man was taken to Ketchikan General Hospital and then flown to Seattle.

Talik says it looks like he will survive. Other people were sleeping in the house, but no one else was injured.

Talik says the two young men were friends. The motive for the shooting is unknown.


cliffnotes: two guys I know from high school were messing around with the same chick one guy got jealous and attempted to kill the other guy thought he did sohe took his own life...(didn't say there names out of respect...)

there has been at least 5 deaths I can recall that have happen in the past 7 months in Ketchikan, Alaska

Jared A. attempted to murder my friend Kyle P. over a girl that Jared liked because Kyle P. was messing around with her instead of murdering kyle he shot himin the face and now is in critical condition...Jared sadly took his own life right after he shot Kyle in the face...

Roughly 9,000 people...but we've had about 6 deaths in the the past 6 months all 19 and younger and 3 we're suicide...
