Im thinkin about organizing somewhat of a sneaker show in my area. I know for sure nothing similar was EVER done here and people are relatively new to thesneaker culture, and I would say not many people are anywhere near deep into it. So what would be some basic advice for executing a proper event. I wasthinking the usual, bring some local hip-hop acts...maybe a ball tournament? How would you feel about some sort of "speech", introducing andexplaining the culture, the collecting...I myself have my own collection and it's steadily growing but I don't know anyone who does it in myvicinity...and I'm following the local hip-hop boards, so things like that would pop out in such places. Anyway...if someone has prior experience of howdoes a good sneaker show look like...please advise. Thanks

Whats your location sir, that could probably help NTers to provide feedback and ideas to help you achieve what you wish to accomplish

I'm in a small country in Europe where nobody gives a F about sneakers haha...I mean, they do, but, not anywhere near like US or other big markets and theydon't collect as much. But I think there are many people that respect the culture, but they can't interact with it anywhere but online. So I would liketo make some sort of sneaker event live. Bring people together, maybe start off something who knows.

Skateboard scene is pretty strong though...maybe I could flip the event for them boarders too.

you make it sound like there aren't enough people who care to even have an event...

Why lame? I would make it a sneaker show just like any other...have people bring their fav kicks if they have...tell to others why they buy or collect...have alittle talk bout the whole culture of sneakers...you know. Test the waters. Why not? I was just asking you for some "standard" ideas for regularsneaker shows you guys attend, so I could get the idea how does a casual sneaker show look...that all there is to it really

Riker that sounds COOL but also alot of work , YOU can Do It... I dont have anything too contribute but time too talk peeps who might be able too HELP , Soholla if I can help , I need a reason too travel too Europe for my 1st time..

Hey R3tro 3, you actually would fly out here for the event? Now that's serious ballin! Haha. But anyway, yeah I would definitely want to make it happen.Sidebar, I'm running a blog which is mainly focused on sneakers, and basketball, and I must say I have a decent feedback on the site, especially keeping inmind I don't promote it. If I could draw more people to the site and make some sort of an critical mass I could basically have a guaranteed audience forthe event. If I could have something like 50 pairs of interesting unique sneakers - it would be a great start. Maybe that's a laughable number for USstandards, but over here that would be pretty decent, considering that there's 4 million people living in my country. So that's like half of New York.So out of 4 million people, I can only imagine how low the percentage is on "sneakerheads" haha. But I have to try, right?
