So an employer called me with a blocked number

No. You want to work right? Pick up the damn phone.:lol

did you pick up the call or let it go to VM? Also, what position is this for?

Did they leave a voicemail? How are you supposed to reply back about the position if you don't have the number.

For an interview, is it iffy that he called me from a blocked number??

I dont' get it. How did you know it was the employer?

Employers don't play games. If you're a qualifying candidate and worth their time, they'll communicate the message loud and clear.

But if you DO NOT RETURN CALLS, then it's a sign that YOU DON'T CARE.

I did pick up and didnt speak

. Then he called again and i said hello and we scheduled an interview and all that. I just never had a blocked number employer??

Please excuse my rant.

People not picking up blocked numbers, or numbers that they do not recognize is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Its a friggin phone. What is the worse case scenario? If it is a telemarketer/bill collector just say no thanks and hang up. If it ends up being someone you dont want to speak to at the time say. Im a little busy right now. How about I call you back later/tomorrow/next week/ next year/whenever. God forbid someone in your fam is having an emergency and need to reach you directly, and that is the only phone they could get a hold of.

This generation is so socially inept (I was going to say socially awkward, but inept is more like it). They really dont know how to handle simple situations like these.

Not coming at you OP. My rant isnt even really on topic, maybe it belongs in the thread about nothing.

You serious? You might as well do the no text vent.

I don't have text, and don't deal w/ that stuff. If someone needs to reach me, they'll call me. I feel like the text thing is for introverts and people that don't have balls.

When my friends can't make it to something, or flake out, their mode of communication is to 'text' someone.. -.-

THIS My girl does this **** and it is so stupid to me. If you dont want to talk to the person hang up the phone its not like they can stop you from pressing the end call button. And for people who wait for voice mails ive seen first hand my boss call the first person leave a vm and call the runner up get straight through and hire that person. Some jobs require people who are accessible if i have to call you and wait for you to call me back then why am i paying you.

Texting to me is more of a convenience if i am making plans with someone i will call them. If its a simple question i will text them.

If the number looks computer generated and from a main line, i usually let it ring. If not, I'll reject the call. I won't even bother to pick it up.

People that leave voice mails are legit, but I've had computer generated notices too.

Nope, its a modern era. If the person blocks their number than its my choice not to pick it up. They can either the text or leave a Voicemail. If that person does neither its their fault.

Caller ID was made with the intention of having control, and voicemail was made to get your message across w/o being answered. I dont owe anyone anything. LOL People get the point and than call me without the block number.

Every time someone calls me with a blocked number its always to bother. Regardless the case its not acceptable in my case ever. Also I get plenty of voicemails its never a problem.

I always answer private calls, never know who it could be and why they need to reach you
