With a career avg of 12.8 ppg and after a playoff run which he average 15 ppg Raptor fans all believe he was the truth, they thought he would get the franchiseback on track. WHY?

no one thought any such thing.

in fact the overwhelming opinon, especially in the raptors threads was that he was a versatile offensive player that would fit well into the raptors currentsystem, but was not the kind of defensive stalwart player the raptors needed.

and it was almost unanimous that he was too old and the raptors overpaid.

you are unfamiliar with the subject about which you are posting.

And you are just unfamiliar with Toronto, because every one in Toronto thought that, fans, radio stations, analysts....

And people laughed at Portland when he left. I was quite happy when the Blazers didn't sign him and he dipped for Toronto. He was severely overrated.

provide even one video clip, audio sample, or news paper article that 'crowned him as the savior' or even says that he was the sole reason the entirefranchise was going to turn around.

it'd be easy considering 'everyone on toronto was saying it.

because there's a 30 page season thread on the front page and a sizeable offseason thread that support my statement.

it's quite evident that this was just your own personal opinion and now that you're dissatisfied with his production, you're attempting to projectit onto the media and fans as their fault when you're the one that bought the hype.

That was just CP. I never wanted him because I didn't think he was worth $50 million. Although (at the time) Oden, Aldridge and Hedu wouldhave given us one of the tallest line ups in the league, it wasn't worth that much money.

I thought it was a great move from the get go. Boy was I wrong. Nothing but disappointment thus far. Id rather see freakin Sonny Weems out there, at least hewould show some effort. Kris Humphries? Word.

Do you mean Toronto? Because Bosh can't leave Portland unless he is tradedhere.

I'm in Toronto alot and yes there was a feeling that Hedo was going to helo them out tremendously. Notice I said "feeling" people had a"feeling" Shaq was going to make the Cavs unstoppable.

OP what you saying but I also understand what Clutchshooter is saying when dedicated Raptor fans didnt think that.

Yes, there was a feeling among casual fans and the media in Toronto that Hedo was going to help turn this team around.

Most who actually know basketball knew he would be trash. You can't sign a slow and unathletic 31 year old to a 50 million dollar contract.

I was literally JUST thinking this at the Cavs/Raps game the other night: man, Portland has to be laughing right now.

He just needs the ball more and they don't have the chemistry that Hedo had with his team in Orlando, he's shown flashes of his former self throughoutthe year in Toronto, but nothing compared to who he was in Orlando.

You just shut down the entire arguement and thread...

--With their lineup and the conference they play in, I expected more from the Raptors this season.

man nobody except delusional cavs lebron fans thought that about shaq
laugh.gif
even the media was saying shaq isn't the final piece

^Only time will tell, but at this point in the season Shaq > Hedo. I don't really want to start that debate but he's definitely had more of animpact.

impact and being "unstoppable" are different. shaq never made the cavs look unstoppable. we both know the move was all to counter dwight and otherbig men in the playoffs. we will see how it plays out. the magic regressed though. if KG is unhealthy, and kobe's hand is all messed up the cavs might evencoast through everything.

but it's the cavs lol
