I do this with my wallet (especially at school), since it's the only thing that goes in my back pocket. I thought I was the only one that did this wallet check thing.

Bro. I conduct a self patdown everytime I leave a room. 
All it takes is 2 seconds to confirm I have wallet, keys, and phone. And when I'm in a club/crowd/travelling - everything stays in front pockets only. 

I've lost so much cash when I leave it in the same back pocket as my cell phone, since my celly has a rubber case. 

When taking out the phone, my money just comes out and falls to the floor without me knowing.

I was at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver Canada. Went to a club, happend to be college night. The club was 100% asian people. My boy was the only white guy and I was the only Indian. We got drunk, and on the way out I noticed my wallet was missing. For some reason (my stupidity) I had all my loot for the tip in the wallet $600.

We left the club and I was convinced I was pick pocketed when I was bumped while dancing with a female. I walked down the strip furiously cursing "F CANADA" 3 males across the street in Canada hockey jerseys started talking *%#$. It lead to me furiously repping San Jose. They began to cross the street towards my boy and I. I heard someone yell from behind us. I turned around and I was greeted by 5 more guys in Canada Jerseys and a punch to the face. My buddy also got knocked to the ground. I bounced up not wanting to get stomped out.

To wrap it up. I lost my boy. We missed our train. We missed the international game we came for.

I have a propensity for losing my phone. Google Voice + pre-paid phone = not a single %@%@ is given if my phone is stolen/lost. Just go pick up a new one. I still have my main phone, but when I know I'm going out drinking, I'll bring the pre-paid phone and leave my main phone in the car or at home.

Same but switch right and left. I never understood keeping stuff in the back pockets. It's easier to get jacked and it's not comfortable when you sit down
