Dude still wants to be the focal point of an offense. Won't play a secondary role. Doesn't look like he's cut out for that anymore and he'ssaid he'd rather retire. Has that day come? Seems like a rather abrupt end with no chance to say goodbye.

NO

He needs to accept that he's not a #1 option anymore. He can be a very good #2, but nobody is going to build a team around him, he need to understand thatand accept being a #2 or #3 option. I hope he comes back, he has a few more years left and I want to see him get a ring.

he dont wanna be no 6th man

wouldnt suprise me if he retired if the offers arnt there n the offseason like i suspect

He's done in the sense of being the 1st guy on the team & leading them (Prime Philly days). If he can accept a lesser role & adjust, then nohe's not done. Problem is, he doesn't wanna go that route. In a way, you can praise him for that because he knows when to hang it up. He doesn'twant to tarnish his legacy as a guy who didn't know when to hang it up, Even though that's not right now in his career. I think he can still be veryproductive as a 2nd/3rd option. He doesn't want to be a ring chaser & tag along, he wants to still lead a team. That time is passed, but its up to himif he'd rather retire first or not. Theres a thin line in his case between being a ring chaser or a 2nd or 3rd option though...

yo, im a known iverson lover, but i cant believe dude actually expressed to the media about his feelings of coming off the bench.

that woulda been a secret that i would take to my grave

I would say so. Dude just doesn't wanna accept coming off the bench. And he can not be good enough to start, let alone be the #1 option of the team..

I like A.I but he's probably the most selfish player I know. At every point in his career, he's been able to get at least 20 shots a game. The factthat he won't take a lesser role for a championship now means he's all about himself.

Ehh, after what he said about practice, I'm not surprised. At least he's making no bones about how selfish he is. He could be selfishcuz he was clearly a #1 in his prime. If he can't accept being #2 or lower and would rather retire, that's up to him. I gotta respect him for that. But, if that is the case, then he's done now and it seems like he deserves more of a farewell that this dud of a season.

Plus you can factor in the contract scenario.....where it's going to hit Allen hard how much teams now think he is "worth."

If he's not gonna start somewhere, he's gonna retire. Isn't that what he said anyway?

A of part thinks he really does want to sacrifice his game and sign with a contender, but another part of me thinks he'd rather just sign with a mediocreteam and chuck up his 20 shots.

AI needs to chill out a let some random team pick him up like milwakee or Charlotte ... they'll let him do whatever he wants.... he wont win a ring buthe'll chuck up 25- 30 shots per game

i dont know. david aldridge did an article on this not too long ago though

its funny how he says he'll do anything for his team and any assignment his coach tells him to do...well allen coach says you a 6th man and youpouted...grow up man...motown made a huge mistake with this trade...but is he done?...no if he puts his ego aside he'd still be dangerous

send em to the hornets!

who's the hornets sg right now??? doesn't matter a.i.=instant upgrade

He won't help CP3's growth. He should just go to a subpar team such as TWovles, Kings, or Clippers. It's not like they're gonna make theplayoffs anytime soon.

I would like to see him go to a team like San Antonio, and see if he will complain to a hard nosed coach like Greg Popovich.

His attitude is why he may never be a champion.
