Yep. Because we depended so heavily on the automotive industry that 4 years ago when some financial advisers really seen it going on...nobodywanted to listen....but some if the cribs not bad though..some are nice..just in not good hoods. Some are. And yes i see the pics...but its hoods all over. House near 7mile few doors from moms house went for 15k..4 bedroom 4 bathroom joint. If I graduated college before it sold i would have copped it. Mostpeople are going to try to hold on to the houses and flip them in the next few years though.

Bingo.

Many of you are so naive it's unbelievable. Like most cities, Detroit is having a huge economic downturn. Unlike most cities however, detroit doesn'thave the luxury of some booming industry and/or sector to rely on. This is why it's in the state it's in. But you'd be a fool to think this ispermanent. At some point in the future, industry is going to move back because of prime real estate and a prime labor force. Of course, with the arrival ofwhat is essentially "new" money into the city, you'll see the development of restuarants, apartments, shopping malls, and more forms of economicgrowth.

Purchasing a crib, for cheap no less, and watching it appreciate is sweet icing on the cake. If i had loot, I would seriously be in detroit buying property andinvesting for the future.

...

well how do you make money off em tho? no lie i think i read the average price of a house in east cleveland is $3,500. (NOT 35,000 I said $3,500)

so if you buy one of these you know its gonna be run down. everything inside is gonna be stolen/stripped of plumbing and anything worth a cent in it. why wouldanyone want to buy a house like that? i can see if it was 1 or 2 on a nice street (not gonna happen) but there are blocks and blocks of h0uses like this. areyou just supposed to sit on em from the burbs miles and miles away and just pay taxes and stuff on it and wait for the economy to get better? i dont see theeconomy getting better any time soon in east cleveland. plus, if lebron leaves, its a wrap for cleveland in itself.
