which place would be better? i've ALWAYS wanted to go to amsterdam, great britain, north africa, germany, or japan. after i saw this post on stones throwabout japan: http://www.stonesthrow.com/news/2008/11/madlib-jrocc-egon-japan-tour-photos-day-twohttp://www.stonesthrow.co...japan-tour-photos-day-two

it made me want to go there even more. where else would an UNDERGROUND RAPPER (exile) get an advertisement in osaka's major square (the picture is on thatpost)? you certainly wouldn't get that here unless you're lil wayne. leads me to believe that a mixed couple like us may have a better time in japanand enjoy more culture than germany. but my question is to those that have been to both? which place would be better to travel to? i'm going to surprisethe girlfriend w/ a trip to either in february (my birthday month), and i'd like to get an idea of the better place to travel.

I thought this would be about cars. Go to Europe and take a train around. You can also get to North Africa via ferry from Spain.

Can't go wrong with stones thrown and japan. I want to visit both of those places along with England.

Link doesn't seem to work.

Japan might be nice depending where you go since cherry blossom seasonbegins in February and runs until April but due to the unpredictable nature it may be hard to plan for.

Going towards the end of next month so more insight on to why you might want to pick Japan later.

Never been to Germany so no info there. Sorry. Besides Amsterdam is in the Netherlands which is a different country than Germany.

Got confused when you mentioned Exile since I only knew about theboy band Exile which is ******edly popular in Japan forreasons I fail to comprehend.

If I was to pick Europe I'd want to have enough time to check out a bunch of different countries though.

this post makes me want to get my passport renewed. I would pick Japan just to experience the culture...I'm guessing Germany's culture is more U.S.like.

chk him out. he's down w/ madlib and the rest of the 805 group. you may like the music.

looks like the pick is japan. i've heard about the hip-hop love there and that was one thing that is VERY important. we both LOVE underground (she'sslowly getting into it and she's loved every show that i've taken her to). and then just for different scenery and culture as well. i'd love totrek across europe via train like someone suggested above, but that requires major funds. japan may be more in my reach.

thanks for the suggestions

Japan is the way to go so many diffrent cultures and things to do and places to see.

I have never been to Japan but I enjoyed myself while I lived in Germany.

I would love to get to Germany one day but Japan no doubt

props to you recognizing Exile in the post

If you're picking Japan I'd suggest getting a railpass. I'm planning to check out Osaka/Kyoto/etc. by bullet train and considering I was quoted that ticket is like $200 and the rail pass is about $300for a week and includes bullet trains and most of the rail lines it just seems like the better alternative.

Duh! I just remembered. Stone's Throw as in the record label? It's been a while since I listened to Peanut Butter Wolf and those kinda guys.
