Because all Obama is doing is putting the tax rate back to what it was under Clinton. Top tier tax rates under Carter was 70% which was inherited all the wayback from Nixon.... no Tea Parties then either.

So I conclude that this whole Tea/Klan Party events today is a mere farce. All the signs of "socialism" "no "bailouts"should have beenaround when Bush decided to bail out our financial institutions and put tax payer's money behind the Auto Industry bailout.

I really don't understand how bitter one group of individuals can be. 5 months later and right-wing ideologues still can't get over that Obama won.

you missed one BIG point in your keen observations nostrand ... clinton wasnt creating massive debt that will cause significant hardships for many years tocome ... i know its difficult for most people to look beyond today, but if you could youd be just as pissed as all these tea party people are ...

Hummm so no criticism of Reagan when he nearly tripled our national debt that was increased even more under Bush Sr. I can't take debtcriticism seriously after 8 years of Bush. In the same way Reagan had to spend more for America to become prosperous once again because of Carter'sterrible administration, Obama has to do the same. The only difference is Reagan gave deeper tax cuts and didn't impliment huge programs.

You don't even have to go back to Reagan. Many Republicans blindly agreed with everything Bush did during his 8 years in office and would be happy with a3rd term. There is no kind of reasoning that can be used anybody who would like a 3rd term of Bush.

I do not claim a political party but,it is not a doubt in my mind that Obama is the man for this job,but stuff like this really make me wish that he would havewaited until 2016 to run for President.

...still got cats saying that he wasn't born in this country...I was disappointed in Bush but I didn't complain or whine the whole 8 years he was inoffice.

I just wish these people would just say I don't like him because he is Black and stop lying to themselves, hiding behind Socialism and all that othergarbage.

Where were these people when Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II were pushing us further into debt?
As far as I'm concerned, the Republican is a party of contradictions and hypocrites.
Until they, the politicians and supporters, learn to actually live by Conservative values (tax less, SPEND less), there is no legitimacy behind these "teaparties".

These Republicans got nothing better to do but whine and complain huh, I guess there are still bitter.

"The government is promoting bad behavior," he said, his voice loud. He asked why Obama would make Americans who pay their bills subsidize the mortgages of "losers." Santelli said he wanted a tea party to happen in Chicago, to stand up and angrily demand "No more."
From the CNN article.

Unbelievable. Maybe we should stop being so selfish and help one another instead of making idiotic comments like this. We are a society. We need to help ourfellow man when they are in a time of crisis. I bet if HIS home was being foreclosed on he would be singing a much different song.

Not that I disagree with what they're saying in this instance, but where we they when their boy George W. was spending trillions of dollars on a war thatnever had to take place?

Oh that's right... touching themselves to jokes about John Kerry, patting each other on the back for giving a 2nd term to the worst president in ourhistory.

Its not just Republicans that are "whining and complaining". When you have hundreds of respected economists blast his plan along withthe follies of the last administration, something has to be done. This country's independence was founded off of whining and complaining. Glad that somepeople haven't forgot about that.

*waits for further Republican bashing*

Republicans have run bigger deficits and have been more actively involved on the domestic front in recent history because they've been toocowardly to truly stand behind the conservative values of SPENDING less and GOVERNING less. Oh, they'll get rid of those taxes for you, but cutting backthose spending programs? Not when they have their elective futures to look forward to.

"Still bitter"
You make it seem like since Obama won Republicans will never hold power again, that the conservatives are DONE, that this is forever now a liberal country.

These people are speaking up about what they disagree with, not "whining and complaining"

It's understandable if these people are firmly against the idea of running up our debt anymore than it already is. But how can you possiblydefend the fact that Republicans continually tax less and spend more?
These "conservatives" should have been up in arms during those periods! Republican politicians take the easy route and leave these spending programsalone while their supporters either don't truly care about this issue or are economically oblivious.
