these are what some would call GM "Grey Market" they are made in a different batch and have different soles original RETAIL SJ's jad clear soles that by now would show serious signs of yellowing , the one your friend brought could be purchased new today from rstor on taobao for around 190 USD delivered.
My oersonal view is they are FAKE

and you definitely overpaid for those...grey markets usually go for 200-250
