Stuckmann is a fanboy and it pisses me off how he tries to act like he's neutral.
The spoiler is in depth of what the ending is and how it all makes sense in the grand scheme. I was highly pissed at the ending until speaking with a friend in depth after he attended the premiere. He was able to put my mind at ease and basically told me that the movie respects the audience to use there better judgement and allow the magic of storytelling to put you at ease as opposed to spoon feeding you...

Here's the thing with ending. The trailers have flirted with the idea of Rey not knowing who she is and who her family is while constantly explaining that there's a destiny in front of her. Combined that with her being force sensitive and seemingly having immense control over it as well as being drawn to infamous skywalker lightsaber let's you know that she herself is related to the skywalkers. Leia and Han don't acknowledge her as her daughter but Leia is soft toward her as if she know her or who she is rather and wants her personally to return the lightsaber to Luke. Luke being in exile for years and a random girl being the first person to see the most powerful and wanted man in the galaxy is obviously because she is significant to him. The only thing is that the movie never explicitly states it. That is going to upset a lot of people but at the same time the film never gives you a reason to deny it. Her fight with Kylo Ren, combined with the fact that kylo talks as if he knew her or once knew her leads to this. I'm thinking that Luke had a daughter around the peak of his academy and after Kylo turned to the dark side after being told stories about his grandfather Luke blamed himself and didn't want his daughter to be swayed by the same path because she is the key of bringing balance to this new generation of the darkside. Being the daughter of Luke skywalker made rey a natural with the force probably since infancy and honing her skills on a desert planet like the one he and his father grew up on as well as not knowing her legendary lineage would put her on a path to be a champion of the light side, a stark contrast to her cousin who was praised and groomed as the nephew of Luke Skywalker and the grandson of Anakin Skywalker. Basically the spoiled got everything easy rich kid vs. the work for everything hardworking poor kid. Luke didn't let everyone know that he had a daughter for fear that she'd be in danger and couldn't have her by his side for the same reason. Only people that know is most likely Leia and Kylo. He would call out to her through the force when the time was right and he will train her to bring back balance to the force. Plus not to be that guy, but the general public will question what an old man would be doing training with a young girl in seclusion UNLESS she was his daughter....A friend of mine saw the film and we discussed this over some weed
