Jerome has gotta go get it though. He was falling away from the pass.

At least Dalton got some experience against a great defense.

Yeah.

I'm tired of Zimmer and his defense. Teams are killing us with zero and quick slant routes.

You're tired of the Coordinator that has us in the Top 5 defensively?

I wouldn't be mad if we drafted Mo Claiborne in the 1st round we need corners badly. Pac is going to have to play next week it sounds like Leon might've torn his achilles.

Without Dunlap, Pac, and then AJ and Leon getting hurt I'm not mad at the result. We have to get more from Jerome and Andre. We need to bounce back against Baltimore. I'm sure that they'll be bringing in corners to workout this week as well.

Stats don't always tell the story. I don't think they are top 5 personally.

I don't want him fired or gone. I really like Coach Zim. I just happen to hate the cushion coverage philosophy. Teams are getting EASY yards with it. You are not tired of that scheme? I am. Even when J-Joe was here. It was the same story, was it not. When we played offenses that could move the chains, did they not complete a high volume of zero and slant patterns?

If you're going with a cushion, you better have aggressive corners that jump routes and interior defenders who lay the wood.

Do we have those type of corners? No. Pacman is it.

I WILL SAY THAT THE LINEBACKERS AND D-LINE ARE PLAYING VERY WELL. THEY ARE WHY THIS D IS RANKED THAT HIGH. OUR DB's SUCK.

I'm ok with where we are. Wish Leon didn't go down. He was getting killed though.

Good game.

But yeah, I'm still high on this team. They're still young and we had some key injuries.

That secondary though =

, Nate with the pillow cushions.

D-Line is the goods and linebackers are pretty damn good.

Losing AJ hurt big time.

Gotta get a win next week.

Zim blitzes a lot. You want press coverage with him blitzing guys? Not sure what you're really complaining about. Clements can't cover speed guys like Wallace & Brown, which is why San Fran let him go. So naturally, he looks horrible in a game where he's facing speed guys all game. Clearly our Run D is rated higher than the pass D so you saying the Dline and Linebackers are why the defense is ranked high goes without saying. The difference is in personnel not scheme. Our secondary minus Leon Hall, Pac, and Reggie Nelson is garbage. Leon has been playing horrible anyways. Not too upset with the pass d otherwise. Big Ben has been playing really well you act like Painter was at QB.

Its not about whose a QB. I expect them to make the plays we need. I know Zim uses a lot of blitzes but if we get a jam on the wideouts, we can at least slow them to give the blitz more time. What good is sending blitzes when quick passes are wide open. Its been like that for years now.

Something has to give. You can't sit back and get picked apart. You can't blitz and not get some form of press coverage in our case. I say blitz and at least get physical within 5. Its a risk.

What would you do?

Good game to be at, thought the Steelers were going to pull away but Cincy held tough. Ravens lost so randomly Pitt is back in first

Nice to see 10027 jump in with the usual Steelers get calls and then get out of here. Last week he did that but after 5 calls that were questionable in Baltimores favor he didn't post again. Refs are just bad all around, sooner you learn that the smarter you are

What would you do?

And then let Crocker get roasted over the top covering a slot? Or let Wallace blow right by Clements? Which one do you want to happen?

I'd rather just not blitz and play 6 yards off versus 8. The front 4 was giving us plenty of pressure and Pitt was horrible against a 4 man rush. No need to dial up the double barrel blitz that Roethlisberger was picking apart.

should be a good game again a few weeks from now. can't wait til woodley gets back on the field, because the pass rush has just been absolutely non existent since he left

I'll go with blitzing less in this case. 6yards sounds cool but they still need to slow up those receivers. If need be I'd risk it getting burned on 3 & short if it means the other team actually having to work for a first. Too many times are our DB's giving a large cushion on those plays. We just have different philosophies. I'd just rather run a defense like an offense, especially in our case. So would you rather die a slow death or at least fight to live? The cushions aren't working.

Haha nah, I stay strong on my beliefs.  I just didn't see the point of coming and posting on every bad call.  Steelers are like the LBJ Cavs of the NFL.

I'm surprised they took a touchdown away yesterday as well, that seems opposite of what you claim always happens. Face it, your 'theory' has some holes! I get it though in the sense that XL did have bad calls and that bad taste has never left. And from that point any call that goes Pitts way jumps out at you and you downplay any call against them. If nothing else, a different commish was in charge in 2005, and I'm sorry but if Paul did have good feelings for Pitt that certainly hasn't continued with Roger (see asinine fines/penalties)
